I was fortunate enough to get invited back to, what in my opinion, is one of if not the best parties of the year. The Essential Freaks invited me to play the silent disco of Season 4. I am thankful for the opportunity to play anywhere outside of my home, so I agreed. My set time was 7 AM on Saturday morning. Not the most ideal time for others to get a chance to hear what you have to play. With that in mind, I decided to recreate my Season 4 set, and share it here, with you guys, my loyal followers. Considering the time of the set, I wanted to bring an uplifting and loving vibe to the mix. I did not create a preset playlist, I rarely do. I like to play from the heart, and soul, and just see where things take me. I've put a selection of tracks together, that in my mind, and soul, just make you feel good! I feel like I succeeded in my quest to drop an early morning set that helped people start, or end their day, on a good note(pun totally intended). If you are here listening to this, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. You don't know how much I appreciate you taking the time to listen to my Journey. This mix is my personal tribute to Florida — the birthplace of Electro and the OGs who made me fall in love with it. Welcome to Florida isn’t just a set; it’s a time capsule and a thank-you letter rolled into one.

I take you on a journey through the decades — from the raw roots of classic Electro, through its evolution and reinvention, to the new wave of producers pushing it forward. Every transition is intentional, every layer pays homage to the legends who built this sound and the fresh blood keeping it alive today.

The story closes with something truly special — James Wolfe & J-Break’s unreleased track “Obsessed” (as of this writing). Ending this mix with that track is my way of saying thank you to the mentors, friends, and pioneers who continue to inspire me every day.

A huge shoutout to James Wolfe for the incredible mastering on this mix — your touch brought the energy, clarity, and punch it deserved. And a special thank-you to David Gruter, whose introductions to so many amazing artists helped me connect even deeper with the soul of Florida Electro.

This is more than nostalgia — it’s a celebration, a love letter, and a promise.

James Wolfe – Artist Bio

James Wolfe is a veteran DJ, producer, and label founder whose career spans over three decades in the electronic music industry. Widely respected for his technical mastery, deep musical knowledge, and trailblazing work in electro bass and breaks, Wolfe began collecting vinyl in 1991 and was DJing high school parties by age 14. By 1995, he was performing at major Florida raves, including the seminal RAPTURE event at the West Palm Beach Fairgrounds, and soon became a fixture on the U.S. East Coast rave circuit.

In 1999, Wolfe founded Frajile Recordings Inc., becoming one of the youngest artists in the scene to launch a record label. His debut release, Techtonic Plates EP, was co-produced with David Noller (Scratch-D of Dynamix II), who played a pivotal role in Wolfe’s early development. Around the same time, Wolfe co-founded the electro group Resident Alien with Exzakt, releasing a series of influential records that helped define the Florida electro sound.

Wolfe’s extensive DJ career has taken him to top venues and festivals across the U.S., including Ultra Music Festival, Future Sound of Breaks, and Winter Music Conference events, sharing stages with legends such as Anthony Rother, Carl Finlow, and Karl Bartos of Kraftwerk. Known for his versatile freestyle sets and seamless mixing, Wolfe continues to captivate audiences with dynamic performances and cutting-edge selections.

As a producer, he has built a vast discography of original material and remixes, collaborating with a wide range of artists including Rabbit in the Moon, Jackal & Hyde, Code Rising, AE35, and many more. Under his label Frajile Recordings, he remains a driving force in underground electro, committed to pushing boundaries and championing innovative sound.
