As part of their 25 year anniversary series, Renaissance will put out a monumental remix of the classic and Tale Of Us have been tasked with taking on the re-imagining.

Ever in search of an even-better environment to make music in, Joris Voorn has been hard at work this year constructing a new studio space near his home in Amsterdam. Having only very recently been completed, Joris immediately went to add the finishing touches on his next single in his new natural habitat. 'Genova' is the result, and its been well worth the wait.

A nagging techy beat with a funky undertone drives this infectious track, with monotone synth rhythms subtly rising from the depths to create tense pressure. Moments of teasing intensity increase the drama, before a beautiful arpeggiated melody unfolds and with it brings a sorrowful chord progression. The bass follows in tandem as we head towards a sparse breakdown which strips things down to the bare minimum. A lengthy snare build recalls classic trance as the synths pulse and swell, with a hooky vocal snippet announcing the drop. After some more of that juicy groove, an extended ambient outro provides an atmospheric, heavenly ending.

'Genova' has been heavily road-tested by Joris, featuring in all his sets over the summer and it has received huge reactions whenever played. It seems like his new studio has added a touch of magic to it, and we can all look forward to much more material coming out of it very soon indeed.

Drawing influence from his love of the early 2000's Deep Tech-House scene and twisting it with todays more familiar feel of Dub, Minimal, Deeper edged Techno, Valpy manipulates sounds into what he feels is right for the darker clubs & dance floors, creating a sound that does not follow suit, bending a few 'rules' along the way...

Using his many Clubbing experiences over the years in the UK, Ibiza, Amsterdam & beyond, Valpy has developed a passion for raw emotion filled techno, often challenging the sub woofers with his bass heavy touch, without busting the bank on the tempo front. A balance of 'good vs evil' can often be witnessed in a Valpy Techno piece

Fascinated with pitch & bass, Valpy has moulded and evolved his sound into what he produces today, recently gaining support from Pig & Dan, Ramiro Lopez, Dubspeeka & Matt Minimal, who also contribute to the style & development of his tracks, along with Alan Fitzpatrick, Adam Beyer, Joseph Capriati & Carlo Lio

Having had 2 EP's released on dubspeekas Skeleton Label and also with Seva Records, Plunk, Lethal Script & Berberris in 2014 alone, Valpy's sound has now been recognised by fast up and coming label Gain Records, (supported by the likes of Richie Hawtin) with a Solo Artist Album due for release in April 2015. There are also further releases on Skeleton and new outfit Kitchen Smoke pencilled in over the next couple of months too

To close, Valpy aims to produce music he wants to hear on the same dance floors that he frequented over the years, experimenting along the way to produce his own unique blend, with the odd twist & turn along the way...
