This month's freebie is another one of my funky reboots of an oldie - this time it's the absolutely wonderful Till You Take My Love by Harvey Mason. I've got huge love for this track and play it regularly, but it's very short and I really don't like the key change, so it ends up being even shorter. So I've fixed all that and given it a little spruce up with some beefier bass, crispy percussion and judicious use of echo. It's funky, free, a gift from me!

Federico Scavo & Barbara Tucker - Live Your Life [OUT NOW]

Hitting the music press headlines recently was news of a second Floorplan album.  Now M-Plant delivers a first taste of this highly anticipated release with two tracks from the album, ‘Music’ and ‘Tell You No Lie’.

Floorplan is already well known as Robert Hood’s house, disco, funk and gospel outlet, which this year evolves into a family affair with co-production alongside his daughter, Lyric.  ‘Victorious’ will be the second Floorplan album and follow-up to 2013’s ‘Paradise’ which spawned ‘Let’s Ride, ‘Baby Baby’ and the massive ‘Never Grow Old’.

Set to replicate the success of ‘Paradise’, ‘Victorious’ will be released in June.  To precede it, the single released at the end of April is comprised of the bumping house groove of ‘Music’ (which received it’s first global airing on B.Traits’ BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra show in February) and the disco rotations of ‘Tell You No Lie’. 

Both tracks are exceptionally infectious, with tough beats, glorious vocal reprises and sure not to disappoint.

Finding the time in between working with David Penn and ATFC, releasing for Toolroom and Skint, remixing Fatboy Slim and Yolanda Be Cool and guesting at Space Miami, The Cube Guys are back with ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’, a Track that’s been a key point in their DJ sets over the last year and set to be the killer tune at Winter Music Conference this year.

Just the one track but that’s all you need as Luca & Roberto rework Whitney Houston’s 1987 huge international hit ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’ into a sing along dancefloor masterpiece with a sonically stunning production which runs for 7:00 of absolute fun and energy. Barbara Tucker gives one of her best vocal performances ever with an essential new tune that will appeal to pretty much all DJs in the Dance spectrum.

It’s only a matter of time before it hits radio status and damn it will sound refreshing and give us a sense of where House music is going in the future with the roots of its beginning firmly intact. Massive!

Drawing influence from his love of the early 2000's Deep Tech-House scene and twisting it with todays more familiar feel of Dub, Minimal, Deeper edged Techno, Valpy manipulates sounds into what he feels is right for the darker clubs & dance floors, creating a sound that does not follow suit, bending a few 'rules' along the way...

Using his many Clubbing experiences over the years in the UK, Ibiza, Amsterdam & beyond, Valpy has developed a passion for raw emotion filled techno, often challenging the sub woofers with his bass heavy touch, without busting the bank on the tempo front. A balance of 'good vs evil' can often be witnessed in a Valpy Techno piece

Fascinated with pitch & bass, Valpy has moulded and evolved his sound into what he produces today, recently gaining support from Pig & Dan, Ramiro Lopez, Dubspeeka & Matt Minimal, who also contribute to the style & development of his tracks, along with Alan Fitzpatrick, Adam Beyer, Joseph Capriati & Carlo Lio

Having had 2 EP's released on dubspeekas Skeleton Label and also with Seva Records, Plunk, Lethal Script & Berberris in 2014 alone, Valpy's sound has now been recognised by fast up and coming label Gain Records, (supported by the likes of Richie Hawtin) with a Solo Artist Album due for release in April 2015. There are also further releases on Skeleton and new outfit Kitchen Smoke pencilled in over the next couple of months too

To close, Valpy aims to produce music he wants to hear on the same dance floors that he frequented over the years, experimenting along the way to produce his own unique blend, with the odd twist & turn along the way...
