This song was written by Chuck Berry while in prison and was recorded
in 1964.  This " poor boy" traveled across dozen states by bus, train and
plane to get to his promise land (California).  It was also recorded by
Elvis Presley .  Remember, Paul Revere and the Raiders, Freddy Weller,
had a hit with it also.  Louisiana's own Johnny Allen also had a hit with
it here in cajun land.  Having a little fun with this one.

"A Place to Go When You Need to Hide" is a concept album about the high highs and low lows of life and how these can be difficult to navigate without losing ourselves in them, and how we have a place inside of ourselves where we can go when the world gets to be too much where we can stop for a moment of peace and, from here, actively choose how we want to move forward through whatever circumstances life presents us with. It is loosely based on the Victor Frankl quote, "Between stimulus and response, there is a space. And in that space lies our freedom and power to choose our responses. In our response lies our growth and our freedom." The songs were written during the worst parts of covid amid massive political unrest and racial tension in the US, an uptick in school shootings and the onset of Russia's war on Ukraine, among other issues. These events also coincided with difficulties in my personal life including leaving (and later returning to) my career as a veterinarian after a massive period of burnout and being diagnosed with long-term post-infectious Lyme disease. Lyrically, the album chronicles parts of my own path as I navigated through this period of darkness.

In Memoriam and as a Lasting Tribute to the Late Great, Allen Bailey....Gone, but Never Forgotten. This is a wonderful Allen Bailey Original Tune that I just loved from the moment I first heard it. I sent some ideas for a Collab contribution to Allen, and he graciously re-recorded to allow me to better integrate my vocals, guitar, drums, etc... We liked how it sounded, and then Gabe Vanore of VanGabriel Production took this one to another level for us. Thanks, Allen and Gabe for pushing this one down the rails, and for letting me ride this rather magical train. I feel genuinely privileged to have been a contributor on this joyful project.

In my song he is a bounty hunter working for the Dark One, his job is to collect the souls of the Wicked and bad people of this earth. There is no hiding from him, he is after your soul and discards the Skin. He must be very busy at the moment in this world we live in.

Anomie

Dave Cooper sent me the lyrics and I had a tune in my head , with help from Kim on backing vocals we all came up with this , we do hope you like it ! The 3 of us have a really good Country Rock song out in a couple of weeks . Next up is a real rocker me and Kim adopted from Skippy ( Mary Augustson ) followed by a lovely song with lyrics by Tony Harris with an Easter theme . Charlotte and I have just finished a beautiful song , so that will be out soon as well as a great track that's being put together with Gaz , plus more from me and Kim and soon to put a song together written by David Dunham with Axel Menningen doing what he does best ! Jerry Reed- I have his autograph on my old Takemine that is just about faded out.  Jerry was just inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame this year.  Love this man and his music.  I have tried to play his claw type of fingerpicking, but it is so difficult and so many types of tuning.   I dropped my guitar down 1/2 step and played in drop D tuning.  The best I can do is to try and capture a little of his style
