PEPPOU has been established as one of the best exports from the Bulgarian electronic music scene in the past several years. Ever since the early 2010s his profile is only growing upwards. Peppou’s perseverance in the studio and behind the decks has brought him to the higher echelon, making him distinctive act all around. Peppou can easily be assigned being amongst the few new wave artists with an expressive production and of sound of its own.
His ambition though has driven him taking part in some of the best independent events and productions in his local scene and Europe. On home ground he has set himself as one of the central figures in the best club for electronic music – EXE and a key resident and crew member.

His perception on how his music should be served to the crowd is what made him stand out. The attitude during a performance is always focused on exhibiting a wide variable spectrum of electronic music. His expression of musicality is getting more divers with him adding more aliases to his biography. Styles ranging from house, techno, minimal and progressive and all the way around to the latest edition of organic house. His technique behind the decks makes him a figure to observe through a performance. To put in words, best describing his musical persona is a blend of dynamic sound and body rocking bass. His releases have been delivered by labels like Set About and EXE Audio amongst the most notable.

Monococ is no stranger to our label, having releases multiple EPs now with us. This absolute machine of a producer knows exaclty how to get a dancefloor grooving, with his fat basslines and groovy synths.

We also have the pleasure of welcoming another amazing talent to the label; Artur Achzinger. Also German, this gifted artist has been tearing up dancefloors and pushing out incredible tracks.
His remix really brings this release together.

Monococ - Thunderbolt (Artur Achziger Remix) **PREVIEW**

Carlo's first proper release on Deeperfect has arrived, and "Ordinary House" treats us to juicy subs and old-school bass stabs, while the quirky percussion shakes and stirs. The Wigbert remix opts for a more cavernous vibe, letting the rocksteady rhythm section do the talking and the menacing synths bring the impending doom. The dubbed-out vibe of "Rage" is up next, and the whole affair rests upon the rubber-band bass, sprinkled with subtle percussion. Closing up is the Alfred Heinrichs remix, which has transformed to original into a hypnotic number, complete with a wonderfully spastic groove and discordant riffs.

Part 2 of the Propaganda remixes picks up where the first left off. Gathering together some of the finest talent in contemporary techno, Oliver Huntemann’s killer LP from late 2017 gets more new reworks and remixes.

'Momentum' is flipped by the ever dependable André Winter, who’s deep and groovy interpretation brings new textures to the orignal and will delight fans of his previous work.

Fur Coat, the producer duo originally from Venezuela and now based in Barcelona, bring their own specific flavour to one of the album highlights, 'Egoist'. Their remix is a stripped down driving techno cut with a deeply acidic undertone.

Olivier Giacomotto, the techno producer from Bordeaux, France, provides a electro infused rework of 'Vertigo', adding sharp
808 patterns, a thick cut groove, and eventually some deep pads to his version.

'Malaria' gets the treatment by SHADED who drops his Dark Stab mix. Skyler Patrick Taugher, the Californian behind the
SHADED moniker, brings a particularly tough mix for one of Huntemann’s key tracks - a sure fire peak time winner.

Another album highlight 'Doppelgänger' is remixed by Berlin resident and Upon You boss Marco Resmann, adding layers of
dynamic rhythym with which to counterpoint his edgy pads and deep synth touches.

'Trick17' is giving a mix by Senso regular Distale. A filthy, low roller with fathoms-deep sub bass and and sparkling percussion.

The young Russian Maksim Dark adds his own interpretation of 'Poltergeist' to the release, edging up the darkness a little
more and producing a growling, tough techno workout that will go over big on a lot of floors this year.

The man from Rostock, Carlo Ruetz, provides a slick dub of 'Der schwarze Kanal’, stripping away any superfluous sounds
and setting the controls fort he heart oft he dancefloor.

The Early Days

With music in his blood, ambition and a rare talent, James was determined to create and forge his own individual style on the heady world of EDM. Right from the start he took the music industry by the horns and has successfully managed to make a name for himself.

His first public performance saw him as a guest at Derek The Bandits' (a well known South African Radio personality) "Sound Republic" party. Slightly raw but eager he left his mark and was offered a residency at one of the original "all weekend" clubs in Johannesburg, Sunnyside Up.

He has also been one of the top resident DJs at South Africa's longest running and most successful club, ESP.

Identified as having something out of the ordinary, the management of ESP invested heavily in James and his international career, initiating a DJ exchange with other promoters around the world and so far he has proven his worth to audiences at a number of prestigious clubs and events on the international circuit including countries like Austria, Spain, Poland, the UK and Switzerland!

Warming Up

He took part in the 2006 Zurich street parade as part of the South African representation and showed one million people that the southern hemisphere is a force to be reckoned with.

Experience comes in many forms and James has had the honor of playing alongside some of the biggest names in the dance world. He opened for Armin van Buuren during a 2006 South African tour as well as closed for the world’s number one on the South African leg of the highly acclaimed Godskitchen Boombox tour in 2009.

Firing Off

In October 2010, James played at the acclaimed Electric Mansion event held at Gallagher Estate. The line-up was unlike anything seen in South Africa until that point. James played alongside trance giants Sander Van Doorn, Marco V and First State. 

Shortly after that, James played at the Godskitchen Boombox Tour, when it returned to South Africa in November 2010, with Above & Beyond (rated 5th on the DJ Mag 100) as the headliners. 

In December 2010, James Damian launched a new concept in events called “The Darkest Forest”. James transformed ESP into a magical forest for the night complete with quirky performers, sultry dancers and advanced stage and lighting such which Joburgs club life had never seen. It was a huge hit, with South African based International Protoculture as the main guest DJ. 

In January 2011 James alongside partners Muzzi Muz and DJ Speedy started a new trance night aimed at bringing back the sound to South Africa’s capital city Pretoria: “Save The Last Trance” has been well received and attendance continues to grow with each party.

In 2009, James, along with Shane Halcon, hosted a “Trance Africa” floor at H2O. In 2011, he returned to the Main Stage at H2O, at the recent “2 Cities” party, which featured International DJ, Marcel Woods.

Affable and highly approachable, this gentleman of the decks has created a following of faithful fans eager to loose themselves in his musical magic.
