If you've been following me for a while then you already know that I'll play an Afro-Cuban DJ set every now and then. As a matter of fact my most listened to set on YouTube is an Afro-Cuban mix I did some time ago called "El Baile." (With over 2 million plays and counting) That was my very first time playing this amazing genre of House Music and I've been hooked ever since. "Por Aqui" features my brand new remix of "Candela" by the Buena Vista Social Club. We've all heard the saying "There's No Place Like Home!" well that adage was definitely in effect on my last visit to Detroit in June. I was invited to play this incredible event called "D-Fest" which featured some of the city's best DJ's. For me it was really cool for me seeing and hearing all of the young DJ's, they played with so much energy. It really made me really proud to be from Detroit. Although my Mom now lives down south so I don't get home as much as I would like but when I do get there it's pure magic. I was surrounded by lifelong friends and even had one of my buddies: Carl Floyd fly in from California just in time for my set. (Wow) I hadn't seen Carl in person in years, it was such a cool gesture. He even snapped this amazing cover photo. I told you, Detroit is magical. This mix was inspired by that amazing visit... Enjoy!!!

Makin' Moves was set up in the Summer 2012, a new music and events company set up by Matt Langrish-Smith and Jamesey D. Makin' Moves nurtures up and coming talent, aswell as collaborating with established names. Matt has a wealth of experience under his belt having previously worked for dance independents Papa Records and Tribe Records UK, an internationally acclaimed label and events company. Jamesey, along with hosting his own radio show on www.housefm.net since 2004, has been an essential cog in the wheel of London's soulful & deep house scene, independently performing at most of the major parties in London swell as guest spots abroad in Japan, New York and Dubai. 

The label has seen a heavy output of quality releases this year from the likes of Dazzle Drums from Japan, DJ Fudge & Hallex M from Hong Kong and UK soul singer Omar, Gianluca Pighi & Massimo Paramour from Italy and Tiger Wilson from New York all of which have reached the top positions on digital promo store Traxsource.com.
