The first release from Ryan Murgatroyd on Swoon Recordings, a two-track EP titled ‘Wicked Eyes’.

“I want to transcend the clichés of four-four music and explore the more cinematic, avant-garde and even soulful manifestations of electronic music. We’re placing a huge focus on finding new sonic palettes and escaping the generic”, Murgatroyd said.

The couple sat side by side on the park bench, averting one another's gaze. Hours had passed since they'd first arrived, sometimes in silence, sometimes through heated exchanges. Loving and hurtful words had passed their lips but none of that mattered now. The decision had been made. They would go their separate ways. It was the right thing for both of them, but their lives had been tightly woven together for so many years, it was impossible to imagine life without one another. How someone so close could soon become a stranger...

Italian selector and producer Matisa released her first EP into the world last year via Optimo Music and introduced us to her Italo Disco-influenced productions. She now follows it up with a contribution to Sleep D's Butter Sessions new V/A Come Together, a five track EP that pulls in artists they've connected with both locally and internationally. Matisa's opener 'Gabardine' continues her appreciation of the Italo sounds that permeated her last release, crafting a punchy house number carried along by a hypnotic bassline.

Phantasy is proud to announce its next release by the legendary In Flagranti. Revered by many to be amongst the best producers and artists of underground club music, the Swiss duo’s sounds have been staple in the sets of some of the world’s finest DJs, from Phantasy boss Erol Alkan to James Murphy, Tim Sweeney, Horsemeat Disco and many more. 

This release features four cuts with only the dancefloor in mind, each track echoing the sexuality, style and darkness of the late night disco. Title track ‘Headrush’ melds clattering beats with ecstatic sighs and strutting synth stabs to set the pulse racing, while ‘Locker Keys For Tops’ and ‘Toiletries For Bottoms’ are sister slices of sleazy tropical house. The sassy ‘Dope As Shit’ completes the EP, and more than lives up to its title.

At the forefront of everything is the duo’s provocative sense of humour, from the knowing wink of their track names to the retro cut and paste collage of both their cover art and their masterful edits which have ensured them a permanent spot in the hearts and record boxes (and USB sticks) of today’s leading music makers.

Erol Alkan commented, “I've been a fan of In Flagranti for over a decade, their productions continue to surprise and inspire me. Both Alex and Sasa have inspired all of us at Phantasy in many ways.”
