Thomas Godfrey grew up in London, moving to Stavanger, Norway in the early 90’s as a young boy.
Thomas has always been in love with music, but the first time he tried his hand at djing was in 2008 when at a friends house he asked if it was ok if pressed a couple of buttons on the mixer they had borrowed, just to see what would happen. A week or so later he had a couple of cdj’s and a mixer and used most of his spare time the next few months learning to play.

Six months later he played at club for the first time, and he has never looked back. Later the same year he teamed up with Unauthorized records crew from Stavanger setting up events and playing in the best clubs in Norway.

Inspired by DiY Soundsystem, James formed a collective and started DJing and promoting in 1999. Graduating from student nights in pubs, to putting on events in clubs and boats in Manchester and London, the next stop was spots in Spain, Mexico and Norway over the next 19 years.

Aspirations to be a producer were never far beneath the surface, but it took time. With an obsession for deep, bubbly, funky west-coast deep house and a love of glitchy minimal tech house - as well as influences from Detroit house and techno, progressive house and breaks, it was never easy to nail one style down and get tracks finished.

With the first release out on Geneza Records - the ‘Sounds from the Deep’ EP attempts to encapsulate all these elements and set the tone for a series of future releases based on nearly 20 years of electronic music experiences. Trippy minimal soundscapes, deep dubby grooves, driving acid techno and dark moody deep house are coming up.
