Hotflush On Air With Isaac Reuben - Episode #077

Project Awake and Ranger Sound Car partnered with other local Utah Burners to put together "Afterburn". A final burn decompression party for 2024. This set was the second set of the night and supporting act for Simba Sax who threw down as he does right after me. I was very grateful to play this amazing stage with my community dancing with me for what ended up being my favorite set Ive ever curated. The last track is by TF Marz and Simba Sax busted out the Saxaphone and played with me for It. Unfortunately It never made It into the recording but was a pretty awesome moment. Hope you were there for It! Thank you everyone for the love and support and I hope you enjoy!

This is a recording of my live set from the first of my  "the wolves den" event series. The Wolves Den is a night of live and electronic fusion. Bridging the gap between the electronic music scene, and the live music scene, and bearing witness to the delightful fruits that union bares.

This mix probably has more of myself: my vocals, my poetry, and my sounds, in it than any other to date. 

Music transcends the boundaries of language, Dancing is a multi cultural way of expression, and each and every one of us could benefit to learn of howling from the wolves.

James Patrick is a DJ/ music producer, owner of Slam Academy and Timefog Recordings, curator of the international Spark Festival of Electronic Arts, and an Ableton Certified Trainer. He is a sound artist who thrives on bringing together the creative energy and ideas of his community. Through collaboration and experimentation, he creates immersive environments that explore the evolving definitions of sound art. His record label and events are both supported by some of the greatest names in electronic music, and his personal recordings continue to make waves in the international electronic music circuit. Through his professional involvement in both academic and popular electronic realms, James curated and developed the now internationally recognized University of Minnesota’s Spark Festival. James is also the recipient of American Composer’s Forum MECA award, among other awards.

JP teaches and develops curricula in the fields of sound design, composition, music production and more.  James is also founder of the Minnesota based electronic music school, Slam Academy.  At this Academy, students learn in a hands on environment, how to create music with Live and Max for Live.  He was a pilot member of the Ableton Trainer Certification program, and he currently teaches private lessons, clinics, and workshops on behalf of himself, Slam Academy, and Ableton, Inc.
