Another jazz classic here with Black Orpheus / Manha De Carnaval, written by Luiz Bonfa.  The bossa nova was written for a 1959 movie set in Rio for their famous Carnaval festival.  I've recorded this one over a straight eights beat instead of a traditional bossa groove.  Sure you will enjoy this wonderful melody, and hope you have an opportunity to visit this magical city and people some day.

Black Orpheus   Manha De Carnaval - Luiz Bonfa

Here's perhaps the classic jazz blues tune of all time - Miles Davis' All Blues.  It was recorded first on Miles' seminal Kind of Blue album in 1959, and has turned into such a famous standard over the years, incorporating so many styles.   I'm lining up jazz musicians to rerecord this shortly, but thought I would issue now a version that was all done on keyboards for your extended listening pleasure.  I was fortunate to have seen Miles perform in the 80s about 10 times but by the mid '60s he was not performing this anymore, leaving it for everyone else to play and record.

All Blues - Miles Davis

Here's some beautiful jazz guitar!  Angel Eyes is one of the all time classics, a minor bluey ballad that has been recorded by so many of the greats, including four times by Ella Fitzgerald, who called it her favorite tune.  Because of his jazz knowledge and sensitivity, Al Schulman was the perfect choice here to join me, and a little bit down the road we will be releasing another version with trumpeter extraordinaire Vivek Patel.   

Al is a leading world visionary in digital marketing, advertising and creative, while also holding a masters degree in jazzed composition - my kind of guy.  He is also the only person I know who is on SoundCloud that I have ever met!  Ever.  Wow. Angel Eyes - with Alan Schulman / guitar

Here's a classic jazz standard A Foggy Day.  A Foggy Day was composed by George Gershwin, with lyrics by Ira Gershwin, and introduced by Fred Astaire in the 1937 film A Damsel in Distress. Never saw the movie but the beautiful tune has stuck with me for a long time.  It was originally titled "A Foggy Day (In London Town)" in reference to the pollution-induced pea soup fogs that were common in London during that period, and is often still referred to by the full title.  So many greats have recorded this, including Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Billy Holiday, George Benson and even David Bowie.

This recording was all done on keyboards.

When it comes to famous jazz tunes, nothing beats Miles Davis' All Blues.  This classic originally appeared in the seminal 1959 Kind of Blue album, featuring both John Coltrane and Cannonball Adderly.
