Stephan Lipinski is simply a superb guitar player.  Crossing styles of jazz, fusion, blues, latin and rock, Stephan continues to excite and surprise musicians including elite guitar players, with his fabulous blues and jazz oriented approach to soloing and rhythm playing.   Always tasteful and rhythmical, Stephan is not afraid to take it outside with his mature playing, moving out of the traditional scales harmonically, working with very angular ideas and expert bending techniques.  And then when it comes down to beautiful phrasing of a simple line or melody, nails it every time.  Let's just say it all works for me and my musical sensibilities.  Stephan's helped shape so many of the creative sounds I've been searching for here.  Love the guy's playing.  His nickname here is Pinner, but I don't remember why.  Ask him with your next comment.

Check out Stephan Lipinski (Pinner) on this soon to be released fusion tribute to Miles Davis.  Pinner is an outstanding fusion electric guitarist who grew up in the suburbs of New York, moved outside of Philadelphia now, and who has his instrument down and then some.  An exceptional player who brings a similar angular and harmonic approach to improvisation that John Scofield did with Miles back in the '80s. This is the first in a series of eight easy, acoustic, rather short and inconclusive tracks, which I’ve assembled by working on new and reworking on some old material adding parts and sounds. 
Will anything actually happen in the end? Unlikely. Definitely not here. Here it’s a montage of bare arpeggios in various keys.
I recorded this some weeks ago: sorry about the guitar sound, the string squeak is a bit too much; now, I hope to have fixed that investing in a better and more expensive set of strings.

I'm not sure where Stephan got the nickname Pinner, but have decided to name this grooving number after the children's game Pin the Tail (on the donkey).  No doubt Pinner can play this blindfolded, but we know he is always using his ears.  Love his beautiful taste and chops on this one - as we always do.
