This is an original track.
I recorded the guitar, bass, piano and drums myself. Some elements like certain string parts, ambient sounds, and subtle adjustments were programmed using MIDI — although some of the string sounds were also played and recorded using an electric piano.
This track features vocals by Koharu Rikka (小春六花), a singing voice synthesizer.


The lyrics are as follows:

Letters to the Light

Unfortunately, the connection has dropped, and we cannot be sure what is happening in the apartment where, at such a late hour, the light is still on. Probably nothing; they’re likely watching a film or reading a book. They might be projecting their reactions outward, and what we see could therefore be nothing more than the reflection of someone else’s nightmares — or dreams. Certainly, we have now reached a turning point: nothing can any longer be regarded as real, or the opposite... (all talk!).

This is the fifth in a series of eight easy, acoustic, rather short, and deliberately inconclusive tracks, assembled by combining new ideas with reworked older material, adding parts and sounds along the way.

Anyone wanna dance?  Joined here with Stringburner and Pinner on our funky original, Stay Low.  The right message for the time, with the worldwide social distancing and isolation priorities.  But that doesn't mean you can't enjoy a solid groove.  This one reminds me of John Scofield's classic Uberjam.   As always, Mirko's bass is driving the bus, and Pinner just can't help himself, pushing it inside and outside and creating that infectious syncopated groove.  It's my 61st and 70th tunes with these special friends!
