Jimena initiated this song idea with a melody/progression idea a couple of months back.  Like most other collabs we've done, we bounced ideas back and forth via SoundCloud prototype tracks and just let it grow organically.  At first, we had only a somewhat reggae/ska feel going with the verse, but then we  stumbled upon a useful chip-tune type of oscillation setting that was catchy, flexible and begged to be rocked.  Suddenly the complexion of the song took an unexpected turn into some real hard funk rock and we knew that we were back on track again with another morphing-character Excorde song.  We are quite please with the results, especially with the addition of fine lead guitar work from our friend https://soundcloud.com/dairv-dubbleyew for the finishing touch. Smooth Attitude

One morning I woke up in the deep, dingy German Ruhrpott. In a secluded hotel I saw my sleeping wife and while I was looking at her, the first lines of this track, already set to music inside me, rose up: "Good Morning, Good Morning, what I say now is true. Tell it only in English: I love you". And also the other sentences came in the course of the next days and weeks in English. 

This song is a repeated declaration of love to my wonderful wife. I have been with her for 20 years and I fall in love with her again and again 20 days a month.

But on a more fundamental level I also ask the question why it's not only hard for me to look a person you love in the eye and to say directly in the language you're most familiar with (and that's German for me): "I love you".
