Elad Magdasi has long been entrenched in the rave scene, first and foremost, as a dancer. It is precisely this edge which can be felt in the emotional fabric he weaves into his productions.

It is his love for raving that keeps his mojo running whilst bringing inspiration to his life.

After moving from Tel Aviv to Berlin in 2013, Elad evolved and ended up founding his own label - Front Left Records, along with his husband Mathias Weber. The label is a collective of friends who dance together and celebrate techno weekly. All the releases come from artists who share the front left corner of the dance floor.

Diversity is the key in Elad’s sets, keeping the old and the new combined and making sure you hear some synthesizers.

With her debut release on Coincidence Records in 2018, AADJA will go on to put out a few more projects before scoring an acclaimed 6 track record on Nina Kraviz’s Trip Recordings. ‘Thought Dealer’ hit the scene just last year in 2021, proposing a very relevant collection of tracks high in tempo and in tension. In there, you can hear quite a few worlds - the closer ‘Still Wired’ takes the listener on a nostalgic 160+ bpm acid trance highway, while tracks like ‘Hypomania’ balance it out with a more groovy and tunneling techno that include her own hypnotic vocals and wide filter sweeps and 16th stabs. 

Her career in DJing could only gain traction after a release like that, making her Boiler Room debut in Toronto last year and her 1st Possession in Paris this year in February. With a few more tricks up her sleeve for the coming year, 2022 is looking like her best one yet.

MFC 29 : Xia - A voice for Iran

Based in Montreal, Xia has developed her passion for electronic music in recent years. Always on the lookout for new sounds, she currently draws her inspiration from hard techno, breakbeat, and ghetto techno, diversifying her sets as much as possible. Co-founder of the 100% female collective T.I.T.S and DJ resident of the collective La North, she has made a name for herself in the Montreal’s nightlife, just like her collective!

For this mix, she wanted to raise awareness about what is going on in Iran at the moment.

Xia: “As you probably heard protests have been going on in Iran for the past few weeks after the death of Mahsa Amini, thousands of women and men have gone out in the streets to claim their freedom and defying a deadly crackdown by security forces. 

“The government has blocked internet access because it wants to prevent people from sending evidence of the state’s atrocities to the outside world. We must continue to amplify the voices of the Iranian people to prevent the societal outrage at Amini’s death from turning into a scene of mass carnage.”
“World leaders must forcefully condemn the state’s violence and publicly call on the authorities in Iran to allow the people to exercise their right to protest without the threat of arbitrary arrest, physical violence, or death.”

Widely acknowledged as the godfather of the techno scene in his adoptive home city of Cork, as curator and resident DJ at Ireland's longest running techno institution 'Bastardo Electrico',  over the past 16 years Jamie Behan has been an unrelenting figure at the centre of Irish techno. Despite being known as an out and out techno heavyweight, Behan’s sound stretches across ghetto house and electro, possessing an equally impressive knowledge across, and he has gained a formidable and respected reputation for his versatile selections, skills and physical power behind the decks with his quick fire mixing and fast paced DJ sets. 
Alongside his residencies for "Under the Rose" and his own night "Bastardo Electrico", both based at Cork City's pre-eminent electronic music venue 'Dali', Behan can be found headlining clubs across Ireland every weekend while further afield he is a part of Berlin's KilleKill family, whom he plays regularly with at Griessmuehle in Berlin, and has made appearances at legendary venues such as Tresor in Berlin, Corsica Studios in London, Aquarius in Zagreb, amongst other events and clubs in England, Holland, Belgium, Spain, Croatia, Malta, Germany, and Bahrain. 
In the studio he made early forays into production with releases on Bastardo Electrico, Nice&Nasty, and Static between 2007 and 2010. After an extended break he formed the duo Flexure, collaboration with fellow Irish DJ Stephen Mahoney, whose releases on Bastardo Electrico and Shelter Records have garnered widespread from some from some of the biggest names in techno including Dave Clarke, Ben Sims, Truss, Dax J, Rolando, Sunil Sharpe, Slam, and Cleric to name just a few. 
After an impromptu back to back set at Griessmuehle, Behan and KilleKill boss DJ Flush formed the DJ, Live and production duo "Cork Bangers" which they use as a platform to explore all different avenues of electronic funk, with their first studio collaboration, released in June 2018 on the "10 Years of KilleKill" compilation and further releases to follow early in 2019 alongside their all-hardware live act.
