In November 2020, I was asked to warm up for Anthony Pappa at Brown Alley's rooftop for the Warehouse 3000 Rooftop Summer Series. I decided to keep it chilled and smooth and I was pleasantly surprised to see so many people grooving and cheering so hard to such downtempo vibes. It was a great atmosphere!

I was absolutely delighted, once again, to be asked by premier club promoter Darkbeat to warm up for another brilliant DJ. I had been given warm-up duties for Dave Seaman and follow-on duties for Guti in the past couple of months and enjoyed the challenge of both sets immensely! Danny Howells has got to be one of my favourite DJs in the world. Not only is he one of the loveliest humans you will ever meet, but he has an incredible talent on the decks and an impeccable and diverse taste. His diversity, I think, sets him apart from many others. He masters deepness, epicness, techiness (?) and soulfulness. He is a music lover first and foremost and that shines through in his sets. To warm up for for him, I aimed to get people into a groove, tease them a little and allow Danny to take off in any direction he pleased. I hope you enjoy what I played here for the launch of Danny Howell's Balance mix CD. And thank you Darkbeat for the privilege once again!

Here's a recording of my DJ set from the Darkbeat pres. Born Electric night at New Guernica in Melbourne. This set is following on from a phenomenally heaving set from James Zabiela. Challenging to say the least! The club was sweating like you wouldn't believe so I went straight in to maintain the energy at 4.30am. Lights came on around 40mins later and thought that was the end but then I was allowed played a handful of house tunes to the remaining crowd (including a certain Matt 'King Unique' Thomas) bathed in the house lights. A very fun evening!

One of my favourite songs from the 80s from one of the members of the one and only Talking Heads. The song cried out to be longer and re-mastered at the very least. I added an extra layer of drums, a few effects here and there and an extra synth to follow the one already in the song. Fairly subtle stuff but who needs to do more to a song this good? A wonderful song to get lost in.

This is a raw recording of my live set that I performed on the Market Stage at Rainbow Serpent Festival, midnight Saturday night in January 2015 after Damon Walsh and right before Egbert. I haven't done too many solo live performances but I'm pretty happy with how this one turned out on the night thanks to such a brilliant crowd, organisation, sound system and general good vibes. Oh, and unfortunately the intro did not get recorded so the first couple of minutes of build up you'll just have to imagine.

Fiord and Simon Flower - High Tail (Jamie Stevens Remix) preview

The twenty-first release from Moments is a statement of intent, a collection crafted for the twenty-first century. Momento, a word merging moments and memento, captures the essence of fleeting experiences turned into lasting memories. Curated by label founder Guy Mantzur, the release introduces a new concept: a four-track compilation showcasing diverse approaches to modern electronic production.

The opening track, Mystica, unites Guy Mantzur and Tamir Regev, long-time collaborators whose partnership has earned acclaim across the global scene. Known for their organic and melodic sensibilities, the duo stretches their sound further, blending hypnotic grooves and emotive textures that ignite dancefloors with subtle sophistication.

Next comes Arcturus, a deep, cinematic journey by Volen Sentir. Anjei and David once again prove why they remain central figures in progressive house. Their track exudes a fluttering rhythm, carried by a melancholic melody that feels both futuristic and nostalgic, as if echoing from a distant horizon.

Yuvée follows with Devine, a luminous and uplifting composition that defines his hypnotic house style. The longest track on the release, it unfolds with deliberate pacing and layered progression, guiding the listener through an almost timesuspending experience, one that feels both introspective and euphoric.

Closing the compilation, Catalano bridges continents through collaboration between Australian producer Jamie Stevens and Ivan Aliaga, an artist from Argentina. Their track blends deep, trippy undertones with acid-tinged modulations and an anthemic structure that delivers a sense of resolution. It’s an innovative finale that ties the release together with conceptual coherence.

With Momento, Moments doesn’t merely present music. It curates memory. Each track serves as a sonic keepsake, a reminder that in the ever-changing pulse of electronic music, moments are fleeting unless we choose to notice them.

An old bootleg remix I made way back in 2002 in the good ol' progressive days. This was done around the time of the Kate Bush and Bjork remixes. Originally credited as Infusion remixes, they were really just things I personally mucked around with and made so in retrospect it seems more appropriate to use my name here instead.Thought I'd share with you cos I'd always held this particular mix very close to my chest and Melbourne DJ Sean Quinn was pretty much the only person I ever gave a copy to. Almost 10 years later, here it is. Dated, yes but still a lovely bit of music. Enjoy and download it if you like :)
