This is the stereo drummix of a song that I recorded in my studio (RealMusicRoom) in Rotterdam. The picture is the actual session. The snare though is different. I used a 15" x 3" 1910's 1-ply steam bent Leedy snare with woodhoops and single tensioners.

solo drums

Born and raised in Hannover, Germany, Jan started drumming at the age of 12. His first musical influences were Nirvana and The Beatles, which formed the base for his powerful, yet always song oriented playing. He was soon recognized by the local music scene and joined the rockband “Mellow Sirens” for their national debut. At the age of 19 he was already touring Germany, playing high-profile events like "Rock am Ring" and "Hurricane" festival. 

In 2000 he moved to Rotterdam, The Netherlands, to study drums at the Conservatoire of Rotterdam. Over the last 10 years Jan has worked with many national and international producers and artists such as Mike Garson (David Bowie/Nine Inch Nails) and George Kooymans (Golden Earring).

Besides his work as an independent drummer, he is the backbone of Austin, Texas based artist Patricia Vonne since 2010. In 2013 he played with her more than 50 shows all over Europe including the famous “Montreux Jazz Festival”. 

Besides his work as a drummer Jan is gaining a very good reputation as a producer in the Rotterdam-based studio community “Real Music Room”.
