The Definition:Music crew is more than happy to introduce a new member to their artist family and therefore we're sending a warm welcome to Natascha Polké! Backed by extensive studies in the UK metropolis of London, inspired by artists like Christian Löffler or Jan Blomqvist and drawing from her ever growing DJ & nightlife experience, which already saw Natascha Polké taking over slots at the famed Hive Club and other places, the Zurich-based artist developed a unique approach to what she describes as dreamy, melody-driven Electronica.

The title track and opener "Stars Wrapped In Skin" starts on a complex, melodically intricate level, combining warm, analogue basslines and crystalline motifs for the dancefloor whilst Natascha Polké's tender and fragile vocals add a certain element of beauty, melancholia and masterly sculpted sonic poetry, no matter if this tune is hammered through a big club P.A. or played on late night radio.

"I Don't Mind" indulges in deeply felt, most beauteous dancefloor melancholia and turns out to be one perfect closing tune for a long and ecstatic night out that's about to end way after the wee hours have passed.

With "Neverland" we see Natascha Polké's love for the dancefloor and huge basslines manifest once again, this time fusing with cascading synth lines and hyper-harmonic arrangements whilst her distinct vocal style harks back to a history of well beloved big time bangers, which left a mark and carved out their niche within the global musical consciousness and extended beyond the realm of club culture over the course of the past 25 years.

Last but not least: The subsequent "Neverland Aparde Remix" alters the original cut only slightly and takes the vibe to an even dreamier, more harmonic level perfectly suitable for daytime or early morning sets fully dedicated to a style oftentimes referred to as Melodic House - garnished with a bit of Natascha Polké's unique Indietronica twist, ofc.

Eliza Noble and Jennifer Skillman are Eli & Fur: the British live act, singer-songwriter and producer duo whose career together stretches back for nearly a decade. Having formed a close bond in their teens born out of their unwavering passion for music in all its guises, their careers as DJs, songwriters, vocalists and producers has taken them  around the globe as touring musicians and seen them grace the stages of the biggest festivals in the world including Coachella, Tomorrowland and Glastonbury. 

‘Found In The Wild’ is the pair’s long-awaited studio debut which will be released this summer on seminal electronic imprint and long-time label home Anjunadeep on 25th June. Following BBC Radio 1’s Chillest Record and first LP single ‘Wild Skies’, Eli & Fur now share their second album single, lifted from the ‘In The Wild’ side of the LP, peak time club cut ‘Come Back Around’. 

A dual part album concept, ‘Found in The Wild’ is a sonic presentation of two contrasting and quintessential parts of the unique Eli & Fur sound; two sides of the Eli & Fur which they are finally ready to share with the world, “We wanted to show both sides of us. We are quite varied in the way that we write music and so it made sense to have two parts living side by side. Everything we really love is on the album and we’re super proud of how it’s come together”. 

The first half of the album ‘Found’ is a collection of song-based productions which show Eli & Fur’s strengths as songwriters, vocalists and producers in equal measure. Having begun their careers as songwriters at renowned production house Xenomania writing hits for pop acts like Girls Aloud, Eli & Fur’s talents as songwriters are abundantly clear. 

The second half of the LP ‘In the Wild’ is a change in gear conceptually and ventures into the more upbeat, clubbier side of the project - these tracks explore the girls’ penchant for emotive productions geared for the dancefloor which find the sweet spot between the dark and the emotive, marrying evocative vocals written around their own experiences as young musicians with their unique brand of euphoric club cuts. Presented side by side as ‘Found In The Wild’, the first album from Eli & Fur shows the artists at their most assured.

Berlin based producer and live artist Ben Böhmer has risen through the Anjunadeep ranks to become a breakout star of the past 18 months, amassing almost 40 million streams, picking up BBC Radio 1 support from Annie Mac and Pete Tong, including an ‘Essential New Tune’, and being featured in Billboard’s ‘Ones To Watch’. 

In addition to running his own fledgling label Tön Töpferei, Ben has put out singles on Anjunadeep and acclaimed remixes for Monolink and Jan Blomqvist, both of whom now feature on Ben’s debut LP.

Ben’s early releases on tastemaker labels Bade and Keller drew comparison to revered producers Recondite and Francesco Tristano - dark tracks dotted with classical influence, featuring haunting piano lines and discordant strings. Not long afterwards, Ben lost a close family member, and both his life and his music changed course. 

Whilst overcoming this loss, Ben found solace in music. 

The moody and reflective sounds of Ben’s early work made way for brighter and more melodic music, keeping the depth and texture, but changing the tone from darkness to light. Finding a sense of hope and optimism in uplifting emotions and euphoric melodies, Ben's debut album ‘Breathing’ marks the closing of a chapter in Ben’s life, the culmination of a period of heartache and recovery, and a coming of age as an artist.  

Opening track ‘In Memoriam’ is an emotive tribute, blending powerful strings with stirring vocal samples. Title track and lead single ‘Breathing’ with collaborators Nils Hoffmann and Malou follows. A long-awaited highlight in Ben’s live shows over the past year, 'Breathing' layers Malou’s delicate voice above swung percussion and hard-hitting synths.

An avid collaborator, Ben is also joined on the album by two further breakout German stars, vocalist Monolink who features on ‘Black Hole’ and multi-instrumentalist Jan Blomqvist who lends his vocals to ‘Decade’. 

Through the album Ben explores a range of emotions, from the hopeful ‘Hunting’ with Jonah, to energetic instrumental ‘Maelstrom’ through to the hard-hitting ‘Wall Of Strings, which samples The Cinematic Orchestra. 

Following the release of the album in November, Ben will be taking his live show on an extensive world tour - dates and information to be revealed in the coming months.

‘Breathing’ is available to pre-order now, digitally, on CD and on limited edition 2x12” white vinyl, due for release 22 November 2019.
