Echo Exchange combined visual, digital and physical space in a large scale print & audio work; played out to the street via vibrating speakers on the large window at INTRA gallery during Electric Medway Digital Arts Festival 2021. Jane put out a call for an audio-visual artists from different countries and cultural backgrounds and Isabel (aka bel_medula)responded. We became virtual ‘sonic penpals’ across time zones, to experience life & listening from each other’s perspective via a series of audio exchanges. Through this sonic dialogue, they discover the intersections, patterns, threads, connections, disconnections and boundaries they find in a world where we can no longer pretend to be separate.

These tracks were made in collaboration between Jane Pitt and Isabel Nogueira.

Exchanged Tides is an international interdisciplinary r&d project, by JanePittProjects, between artists and musicians collaborating from the River Medway, UK to the River Guaiba in southern Brazil. Funded through Arts Council England Project Grants.
They shared process, exchanged sounds, thoughts, poems, spoken word and images of the rivers they live and work beside. Resulting in a series of hypnotic, mesmeric films, soundtracks & photographs.

Art Transmission – was a radio experiment devised by FrancisKnight and BRFM's Daniel Nash.  

The commission “Don't tickle me..PUNCH!” was inspired by the Amateur Boxing 3 min round rules and the training routine during Jane's 5 month residency at the Minster Golden Gloves Amateur Boxing Club, Sheerness, Isle of Sheppey. Comprising 5 individual 3 minute sound pieces, made with field recordings and voices from the club, including 'uhZZ-uhZZSCH' 'Undercut' & 'Sugar Ray Rhythm'.  Originally aired over 4 Mondays in May 2014 on the Daniel Monday Night Show BRFM Bridge Radio 95.6FM they were re-transmitted on ResonanceFM in September 2014.

Jane Pitt was commissioned by IG der Gallerien Wiesbaden Bienale to create 'Flűchtlingswelle' (translation: Wave or Tide of Refugees).  She worked with a group of young female refugees from Syria, Afghanistan & Iraq in the town of Wiesbaden, Germany and a choir of German Adults at the Kunsthaus to create a piece that channels their voices using watery cantations devised from live interpretation and field recordings of canalised and open waters.
Winner of The Curators’ Choice 'Of the Sea Exhibition May-July 2016, which was awarded to a work which expresses global, social and political significance. 

“Of the Sea” exhibition showed a variety of extraordinary works of art including lens based media, sculpture and performance art covering powerful topics such as conflict, ecology, territory, migration, piracy, border disputes and the ebb and flow of oceans.  The works were selected by a distinguished and specially invited judging panel comprising Exhibition Curator Hannah Conroy from the Artist Pension Trust (formerly Folkestone Artworks Curator); Kathleen Palmer, Head of Art at Imperial War Museums; Victoria Pomery OBE, Director of Turner Contemporary, Margate; Adam Chodzko, artist and Senior Lecturer in Fine Art at University of Kent; and artist Island Projects Director Nicole Mollet.

Fl-utter-ances (Tree Songs) commissioned by Inside Out Dorset Festival 2018: This outdoor  installation emerged from sensory sessions & field recordings made around an ancient Black Poplar tree. Five convex mirrors with concealed sound systems each played a different soundtrack (Bats, choir singing the note D, sussurations, spoken word, humans vocalising birdsong) in a circle of trees in Sea Cliff Garden, Boscombe.  It was activated twice a day by the addition of a live singer and cellist.
