This Reggaelutionary artist has a voice that demands attention and his music is filled with a message that permeates strength and makes audiences want more. With such an enormous array of talent. It would seem to have been conceived by the cultural revolution of the Harlem Renaissance of the 20's. At a young age Cush I Kushanti identified his skills for writing and storytelling; this coupled with a poetic gift of word play would establish a means of communication for this shy youth to penetrate the walls of urban music. During the 80s and 90s the life style and culture of Hip Hop and the conscious mystical vibration of Reggae music set the stage for this young artist to fortify his craft and develop a unique style that opened ears and raised eyebrows of audiences all over.

Cush I Kushanti comes forth with the objective to revitalize Man, Woman and Child kinds; to uplift the nation with consciousness and positive reinforcement through tales of Humility, Wise-mind and Righteousness. Through his music one can witness the direct reflection of the multicultural heritage, African/Caribbean roots, city struggles, life experiences, and musical talents which embodies the power of self-love, the love for one another and the freedom and liberation of the mind, body and soul. Creatively attracting people of all walks of life to whom this experience is said to be authentic, radical, and energizing. Steadfast on this mission, Kushanti possesses a natural essence for performance and has graced various stages with his ancient presence. Connecting to various markets including reggae; performing at venues such as the Knitting Factory, Best Buy Theater, Crash Mansion, Sullivan Hall, Shrine Live Music Venue, and Le'Poisson Rouge to name a few. Cush I Kushanti also joined the ranks of the 2009 Hip Hop/Soul Reggaelutionary Bambu Band of the year, THE CHOSEN. He was featured on their smash single "Survival". This song was the rallying cry in response to the devastating hurricane that hit the island of Haiti.

Kushanti consistently aims to balance his love for the music and craft as an artist with the discipline of maintaining his professional duties as an industry exec. for BlakkAlpha Productions and Melodream Ent. With proven resilience and perseverance Cush I Kushanti continues forward movement with the promotion of his 2014 solo LP titled, "From the Lineages of Cush" with it's single, "EARLY RISING" featuring his 13 yr old niece Destiny (currently available in all digital stores). Kushanti recently teamed up with film Actor- Amin (Act) Joseph; Music Producer- Michael (Melodiq) Walker and Hip-Hop Artist- Chase Baker which birthed the song title "I'm Ah King" produced by Melodiq, written & performed by Cush I Kushanti and Brooklyn's own Chase Baker, featured in the 2016 Blockbuster action film release: "CALL ME KING" available at all digital outlets.
