I am a UCLA graduate in Ethnomusicology (study of world music and culture) currently teaching piano and pursuing a career in nursing or P.A...

I have been studying Classical piano since I was 5 years old...

I enjoy listening and playing various music genres from all over the world on the piano...

I also play the qanun ( Turkish/Egyptian zither ), violin ( stopped ten years ago though), gu-zheng (Chinese Zither), but, my main instrument is piano :)

Ever since my dad passed away due to end-stage renal failure and pericarditis, I was motivated to enter the medical field in hopes of providing the best quality of care in which I believe that my father did not receive.  I understand that there is a lot of stress involved in this field but, I believe that the patients should not be involved with these stress because they are already battling diseases/sickness or injuries.  

It seems like a whole other language in the medical field but, I know that we are not all born doctors or nurses they require training of course.  I have been through 20 years of training in the field that I love and that is music but, now it's time to train in a field that is the total opposite of music.  Musical training has disciplined me to have unbelievable patience with people of all ages, face challenges, stay focused and concentrated under stress and perseverance...

I am not sure if any College or University would understand this and probably not prefer a person with a musical background verses a person with a science background.  Knowing this, I am still going to try my best to pursue this goal...

When I feel overwhelmed, I would just find the time to make some piano recordings and post it on Sound Cloud to see if this voice will ever get heard :)
