Celebrated for producing the weirdest minimal concoctions around, Carina Lohmeyer, the female sound engineer hiding behind the aesthetic moniker Souki, celebrated her initial breakthrough in 2009 when her first releases got picked up by no other than Marco Carola. Since then, Souki, hailing from the South of Germany and relocated to Berlin, has moved countless partygoers with her fearless one-channel mixing approach which she swears by as it results in maximum club pressure. Truly enough, her exclusive live set oozes sweaty outbreaks of muscle flexing combined with airy female vocals recorded live with flatmates and befriended artists. A special one indeed.

Black Merlin, or George Thompson to his Mum, first came to our attention with his outstanding Brunswick Drive 12" on Commander Weatherall's Bird Scarer label last year. Since then, we've kept a keen eye on his movements and his unique form of 80's inspired, cinematic and analogue heavy aesthetic has earned him further releases on the excellent World Unknown imprint and Mike Simonetti's New Jersey. Look out for an as yet untitled release on London's LN-CC. We are pleased to welcome him into the Clandestino fold.

"Until we are together again"
In June 2023, I said goodbye to my beloved dog companion after sharing twelve wonderful years together. Spencer was my family, my best friend, a constant force in my life, and a source of pure love. His presence always brought a smile to my face, he was truly amazing and beautiful. His departure made me reflect on the fleeting nature of life and the importance of cherishing the present moment, prioritizing what truly matters, and letting go of the unnecessary. During a period of deep grief, I was tasked with selecting music for the first Aurora event. Immersing myself in this process and performing there provided a much-needed release. The music I chose and played was a dedication to Spencer, evoking feelings of something beyond our human experience. I hoped he could hear it from wherever he was.
It was a way for me to say thank you to him for the love, patience, and companionship he had given me. I am immensely grateful for the amazing life we shared and so proud of our journey together. He will always hold a special place in my heart.

Grand River • Aurora Edition Transmission #01

Gin & Tonic is an improvised electronic music duo, comprised of Eli Verveine and Gwenan, renowned for their captivating DJ sets that ignite dancefloors across the globe. Their journey began with a spontaneous decision to intertwine their musical machines for a hybrid live/DJ set at an anti-war gathering in MaHalla, Berlin, during the spring of 2022. What started as a fleeting moment soon blossomed into an impassioned collaboration, where the rhythmic pulse of their creations took precedence over conventional DJ equipment.

This recording encapsulates the essence of their synergy, featuring a compilation of six studio and live improvisations. Some tracks are freshly minted, while others were crafted during the waning moments of the previous year. The collection culminates with a tantalizing excerpt from their mesmerizing performance at the Waking Life Festival in June 2023, a testament to their evolution as artists and the boundless energy they bring to every stage they grace.
