Mayan Warrior is the result of a collaborative project that has united artists, craftsmen, photographers, designers, technologists, architects and musicians from Mexico City and Northern California. 

The project’s original intent was to present to the world the incredible ascent of contemporary Mexican electronic music while paying respect to the deep and ancient sources from which that visual and auditory culture had grown.


Both light and sound are curated by some of the world’s most prominent artists to transport participants to the very origins of the culture – and to a new understanding of contemporary electronic expression.

AND YES: Mayan Warrior is driven from Mexico City to the playa – and back – each year. It's a labor of love and we're glad so many people enjoy it.

Self-defined as having ‘a versatile and well defined’ sound, Dubnekta started out in the music scene listening to broken beats and hip hop in the early 90′s.
This passion for music took him to the scene of Sydney where he would spend every weekend skanking out to the latest from the likes of Mark Pritchard and Monk Fly, ...which is where it all started!

After watching his mates throwing down grenades at kick-ons, he decided right there and then to have a go at spinning and from there on out, it became his latest addiction, going out to buy his own decks roughly 5 years ago and he hasn’t looked back since.

Mixing the dark of dubstep for the BassCreepz crew through out Brisbane and Australia, you know your gunna get your creep on when he lights the fuse!
