For our twenty third installment we've invited August, an upcoming DJ and dancefloor regular based in Amsterdam.

August loves to explores the deeper, more experimental and organic side of techno. His sets blend intricate soundscapes, broken rhythms, and dark ambient influences, creating deep, immersive experiences that transport listeners to otherworldly realms.

Beyond conventional techno, August delves into ambient, downtempo, halftime, and IDM, crafting dynamic sets that keep audiences captivated. His performances balance the experimental with the danceable, each one a carefully curated journey and story waiting to be told.

I wanted to create a mix that captures the essence of the dancefloor, focusing on storytelling, deep kicks, and impressive soundscapes. These elements are what I value most in a set.

In the past, I struggled to capture the vibrant energy of a club while working from home or in the studio. This time, I decided to limit myself to just two attempts at recording, which allowed me to focus on the creative process rather than getting caught up in perfectionism. This approach worked really well, and I had a great time recording. I'm excited to share the final result—it's a club-focused mix with tracks from all my favorite producers."

Ambient intervals have become a source of inspiration lately, shifting the vibe and allowing new energy to emerge. Around the middle of the mix, one of my favorite tracks with an amazing vocal appears. It’s a moment of reset before the pace picks up, steering the mix toward the dancefloor with higher energy and movement."

Janne begon op haar 12e met liedjes schrijven, studeerde Songwriting in Berlijn en vervolgde haar studie aan het conservatorium van Utrecht. Als leadzangeres van de bluesrock band Harlem Lake stond ze op grote festivals door heel Europa. Begin 2025 verliet ze de band en vervolgt haar eigen muzikale pad.
