Giulia Fournier-Mercadante aka GiGi FM debuts on Bambounou’s Bambe label with an EP of spiritually-charged techno mantras.

Magnetite EP marks the first signed EP for @gigi-fm . This release build on her strong presence as an adventurous DJ imbuing the art of techno selection with a hypnotic, ancient charm. It’s no surprise to discover common aesthetic ground between Fournier-Mercadante and Bambounou, whose own tendencies towards polyrhythmic incantations are a snug fit within this vaguely defined field of transcendental techno. This concerted expression from GiGi FM builds on Bambe’s hard to predict but consistently fascinating arc of exploration within music and design, unbound by formula and driven only by sincere creativity and Bambounou’s impeccable ear.

Maara - Big Whoops (ANCIENT 01)

Kalabash is a London-based electronic music collective sculpting a sound that’s raw and percussive, evolving and unpredictable. They draw from an eclectic range of influences - including UK rave culture, film scores, 2000s hip-hop and R&B, and science fiction.

Playing with contrast and tension, Kalabash pairs rugged, weighty percussion with ghostly atmospheres, locking into hypnotic grooves before shifting direction without warning. Their sound is physical and driving, while leaving space for something more intangible—flickers of surreal and soulful textures cutting through the grit.

This year Kalabash will present their biggest project to date - Decompression Tapes Vol. 1, a mixtape slated for release on Tropopause Records in late 2025. Rooted in the UK’s underground DNA, it bends and blurs genre lines, shifting fluidly between percussive club pressure, abstract textures, and cinematic soundscapes. The project embraces improvisation and unconventionality, while maintaining a cohesive flow. Each track is born from a moment of creative impulse, where instinct and experimentation can roam freely.

The first glimpse into Decompression Tapes Vol.1 arrives with two colossal club productions to kick off a year of planned single releases. Decompress & Concrete revel in unabashed bass maximalism, dancing joyfully between the spaces of the UK hardcore continuum. Decompress is a wild and sprawling rave maelstrom with an uninhibited rhythm crafted for peak club hysteria, elevated with moments of pure nostalgic euphoria. Concrete provides the perfect chaser, stripped-back but relentless, a low-slung 4x4 roller that simmers with tension, weight and submerged melody.

Kalabash lay down their blueprint with these two infectious, precision-engineered club creations, glimpses of a sound in motion. Keep your eyes on the horizon…
