Breve Resumo ....
Dennis Smith, mais conhecido como Dennis Alcapone, nascido em 1947 em Clarendon, Jamaica, frequentou durante a juventude os maiores sistemas de som da Ilha, porém em especial King Tubby’s Home Town Hi-Fi (King Tubby) Que tinha como estrela U-ROY, apaixonado pelo o formato dos bailes, acabou se unindo a dois amigos e acabaram criando seu sistema de som próprio, intitulado “El Paso” em 1969.
Como Deejay Dennis ganhou popularidade e isso acabou despertando atenção de grandes produtores, um deles é Keith Hudson, parceria que lhe rendeu diversas gravações ao longo de 1970. Desde então adotando o nome “Alcapone” (Apelido que ganhou por amigos durante assistirem ao filme do gângster). Gravou alguns singles: Power Version (Clarendonians - You Can’t Be Happy), Forever Version (Carlton & His Shoes - Love Me Forever), entre outros, que acabaram virando compilados em seu primeiro álbum.

Foi um dos primeiros Deejays jamaicanos a obter sucesso internacional, influenciou a nova escola de deejays como I-ROY, DILLINGER. Em 72 foi escolhido pela revista jamaicana “swing” como o melhor Deejay, título que ajudou a criar mais popularidade e fãs pelo mundo.
