In the middle of an August night, the City of Baltimore removed four Confederate monuments from parks and public squares. A few people bore witness, and almost everyone in town had an opinion. In her six years on the job, Jan faced gender-based discrimination on a daily basis, but tensions came to a head during the "Battle of the Sexes" tennis match between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs in September of 1973.

In the 1970s, thousands of Vietnamese refugees were left on the remote Anambas Islands in Indonesia. They were stranded without food, water, and shelter, forced to survive off the land. Now, almost 40 years later, one woman wants to go back to those distant islands, one last time.
