Barely in his 20s, the Sheffield artist has already turned heads with his intricate, emotive take on electro, techno and garage, picking up support from Skee Mask (who 96 collaborated with on his ADRISM release from earlier this year), Bradley Zero and more.

Debuting in 2018 with a series of releases on hometown label Central Processing Unit, 96 has continued active in 2020, honing his sound across EPs on Hypercolour and Happy Skull and collaborative releases with Happa and Henzo.

On Sugilite, his debut for Local Action, 96 flexes his production muscles like never before across four tracks that range from delicate romanticism (‘Half A Reach’) to heavyweight club curveballs (‘Waif’, ‘Hot Tip’) — resulting in a record that’s instantly gratifying but full of subtle details and hidden depths.

"Anagogical method" is my track for Twin System compilation “Victim Of The System”, a 28-track compilation with all profits donated to Brixton Soup Kitchen. Functional heaters alongside malfunctioning oddities for a good cause. 

Brixton Soup Kitchen offers support to the homeless and in need, and relies heavily on donations to sustain their work. They provide invaluable relief to a community hugely impacted by the virus, as well as a homeless population forced back onto the streets since the temporary housing provided came to an end. As normality resumes, the chance of another wave of cases and another inadequate response from our government grows. This along with the huge number of people already suffering from the economic impact of the virus means organisations like B.S.K. are now more important than ever.
