Huw Morgan's 2025 organ piece "the sound of the river was in my head" involves selecting a group of pitches and playing them for an unspecified duration, potentially very short or very long, according to a simple rule outlined in the score. I set out to make a short electronic version of it as a test, on a Kawai K5000S, using six pitches (Db2, G2, Bb2, C4, Eb4, Ab4). My Kawai is almost 30 years old, however, and the way the keyboard reacts is a bit unstable. I struggled to keep the dynamics the same for all of the attacks (as would be the case on the organ), but when I listened to the results, I liked them, and I wanted to share this version.

Best results when listening on loud volume and/or on good headphones.
