My entry for KVR OSC #163

The fizz of the drink is so loud it makes Nesbit's teeth hurt. He takes another sip. It's delicious. The kefir is sour and delicious at the same time, like a cross between wine and yogurt. 
He tries to remember what it tastes like when he stops drinking it. Kefir tastes like kefir.
It is at this moment that he remembers.
He remembers everything.
He remembers that when he first arrived at the space port, he went to find a bar called the Happy Alien.
He remembers that the proprietor of the bar was a large creature that looked like a giant, orange caterpillar, and that the caterpillar had a human-shaped head.
He remembers that the caterpillar told him he would be happy here, and that his life would be good here, and that he should stay.
He remembers that the kefir tastes like wine and yogurt.
He remembers that the Happy Alien is a lie, and that the entire space port is a giant lie.
Everything he thinks he knows is wrong, and everything he thought he was doing in life was all wrong.
His eyes are blurry and his mouth is dry. He wonders if he should go to the washroom.

Heidi-Marie composes for her own enjoyment & love of all genres of music. Her natural musical ability together many years of music education, she continues her passion for music composition using electronic music production software Logic Pro X. 

As a Sessional Musician | Piano Accordionist | Piano | Keyboard/Synthesiser player coupled with “perfect pitch” she has the ability to easily improvise on the spot, add a hook, riff or accompaniment without any prior practice or rehearsal.

Initially focussed on instrumental compositions Heidi-Marie has also established herself as a songwriter/spoken word & occasionally sings on her original jazz/blues compositions.

“Trudge” alludes to the weird disconnected-yet-superconnected reality that envelopes us all day, every day. We wade through a mire of strangely polished ‘normal’ on every social medium we consume, and then can’t work out why we feel so substandard all the time. We voraciously seek the positive feedback that is designed to suck us in and keep us coming back for more. We scroll, and scroll, and scroll, and scroll. What will it take for us to stop and look up? Or will we all slowly fall into the void?
