A collection of tracks I made for the "One Synth Challenge" is a contest on KVRaudio.com. Each month a free software synthesizer is chosen. Participants then use only that instrument to make all sounds for a complete track.

Entry for the KVR One Synth Contest

About 20 instances of XILS in Ableton Live 8 using only built in effects. (Compressor, Saturation, Reverb, EQ)

Chills (OSC54 XILS 3 BE)

Over 30 instances of Synthmaster CM used to create this "One Synth Challenge" contest entry. Produced in Ableton Live 9 using native effects: compression, autofilter, eq8, saturation, redux, and amp. Used Limiter6 for mastering.

Wither and Dither (OSC CM Special- Synthmaster)

**Dec 26 update: I adjusted the eq and compression on the bass to get it a bit more under control. I'm happier with the results.**

Submitted for the December 2013 OSC contest on KVRaudio.com.
Over 30 instances of Linplug's Spectral software synthesizer.
Track created in Ableton Live 9- due to Spectral being fairly buggy in it's current state (I experienced an extraordinary amount of crashes and frustration), this track is a combination of 4 projects with each midi track bounced to audio and then arranged and addition processing in the form of EQ, compression, and send effects.

The robot 'voice' was created using Live's drum rack grouping feature to assign individual instance of Spectral to separate keys of the keyboard. I programmed each instance to emulate a syllable. Then I played them in sequence to create 'words'.

Additional effects include Live's built-in EQ, Saturation, Autofilter, Compressor, and Reverb, Delay, and Limiter, and 3r-party Limiter 6 on the master track.

Robot Music (OSC58 Spectral)

Created using Live 9, it's native effects and seventy four instances of Zebra 2.

Serengeti Hot Rod (OSC60 Zebra)

One Synth Challenge track. For #61. 40+ instances of the OBXD virtual synthesizer in Live 9.

18 Dexterity (OSC61 OBXD)

All sounds produced with the Mac version of 20 or so instances of 
Audjoo Helix synth. 

V2, added a bit more melodic structure and dynamics. Fine-tuned the mix a bit.

Only effects used were built-in Ableton live plugins as follows: 
EQ8, Saturation, Dynamic Tube, Reverb, Ping-Pong Delay, Compressor, Utility. 

In addition, TAL Tube and Yohng's W1 limiter were used on the master bus as seen in the image.

BPM: 108
About 30 Helixes were used.

The Locusts Approach v2.0 (OSC37 Helix Beta)

Entry for the March KVR One Synth Challenge contest. All sounds made with many tracks of Schwa's Olga synthesizer using Ableton Live. Effects used: Ableton EQ, Tube, Saturation; Voxengo Tube Amp, Overtone GEQ; Molot, W1

Motes and Beams (OSC38 Olga)

All sounds in this track were created using over 30 instances of Arturia Mini V virtual synthesizer. Programmed and mixed in Ableton Live 8. 

Additional processing with Ableton Live's built in EQ, Saturation, Compressor, Reverb, Ping Pong Delay, Fxpansion's Free Compressor, Limiter 6, and Voxengo's free parametric EQ.

Feeling Free (OSC 42 Minimoog-V)

First entry for OSC contest for Dune. Something quite a bit different. Wanted to see how realistic I could get Dune to sound.

About 30 tracks using Dune BE, Ableton Live effects: Compressors, Reverb, Amp, Cabinet, EQ, Ping Pong Delay; Limiter 6, FXpansion DCAM compressor.

About 34 instances of Alchemy mixed and programmed in Ableton Live.

Track for OSC November 2012. Everything you hear was made using a whole bunch of instances of U-He's free synth "Triple Cheese" (about 30) made in Live 8, with native effects: eq8, compressor, tube, reverb, autofilter, pingpong delay, and free plug in effects: Proximity, PTEq-1a, TAL-Tube, TAL-Reverb-3, Limiter6, DCAMFreeComp.

Barricades (OSC47 Bazille)

KVR "One synth challenge" contest entry using only Fabfilter's Twin 2 software synthesizer to generate all sounds.  

Created in Ableton Live 8 using native effects (eq8, autofilter, compressor, saturation, reverb), and Ignite Amp's PTEq-1a, Anvil, NRR-1, Vladg's Limiter 6, Flux's Bittersweet, Camel Audio's CamelCrusher.

Era of Good Feelings (OSC49 Twin 2)

44 instances of Togue Audio LIne's TAL-U-NO-62 uses to create this track for KVR OSC (one synth challenge), produced and mixed in Live 9 using only Togue Audio Line effects (Dub II, III, Reverb II, III, TAL Drive, USE, and Bit Crusher), and one instance of Live 9's amp to give the guitar sound a bit of grit

For mixing I use Live 9's EQ8 and Compressor, and a bit of Saturation

On mastering I used Limiter 6 as well.

Squirrel Assassins (OSC50 TAL-U-NO-62)

KVR One Synth Challenge using Tal Uno LX1.1 virtual synth to create all the sounds you hear.  About 22 instances of the synth. Made in Live 9 using built in plug-ins, EQ, Compressor, Reverb, Delay, Amp, and Saturation.

Rain or Tears (OSC50 Tal U-No)

All sounds created using the free version of Madrona Lab's Aalto Solo. The synthesizer being monophonic provided a bit of an added challenge.  I went for something a bit more textural and contemplative.  It builds slowly and weaves aural colors and tones into a wall of sound.

30 instances of the instrument were used in Live 9 using only native plugins such as eq, delay, reverb, saturation, and compression.
