Like this a lot. Would love to hear the 1983 version for a comparison but always think a good song will crossover tempos (and genres)

I have been obsessed with making a “soundscape” about David Mitchell’s “The Bone Clocks” from the second I read the final paragraph. It is simply a magnificent piece of work which has a certain resonance with me. However, having done a substantial amount of work on it I have come to realise that the book is much too inventive and far reaching to come up with a thematic concept. 

Therefore, I have thrown in the towel and I’ve uploaded as it is. In terms of it’s concept I know it’s failed but I like to think of it as a brave attempt – especially as its album length (in old vinyl money). There’s a mixture of everything from rock, pop ambient and electro and lots of my influences prevail throughout. So Arthur Lee brushes shoulders with Brian Eno and John Carpenter sails down the Endless River with Pink Floyd.

This will be my last upload for a while whilst I recharge my batteries and hopefully get some new material for the New Year. As always any feedback (negative and positive) is gratefully accepted

The Bone Clocks

Another very early tune from around 1983.... slowed down from a spirited 180 BPM to a more elderly 132 and seems to pack more of a punch. Written a third verse and made up an intro from the word 'stories' from the chorus line. Added some jangle 12 string Rick for the simple solo !
