Love the change of pace in this section. A nice blend of styles and tones.

Whoa! Nice hit. Perfectly timed. The guitar and symphonic textures are beautiful.

This a very ambitious project. I feel like it deserves a full listen just for that alone. I am going to come back later this evening or tomorrow when I have a full 40 minutes.

Had a chance to come back this morning and listen from beginning to end. My favorite is probably That echo must die. Very strong song.  Has a bit of a Floydian feel. The instrumental interludes in between the songs really set a nice mood. You say this a failed project, but I think it is pretty damn successful. It was engaging the entire time. If I got bored, I would have stopped listening quickly. To keep someone wanting to know what comes next for nearly 40 minutes, is a success.

While I was here, wanted to listen to that echo must die again. Still probably my favorite.

Main parts --- nylon and steel string acoustic with some electric guitar overdubs later. A kind of study, with some almost experimental electric guitar ornaments. Recovered the acoustic guitar files, fixed them up, and glued it together! A bit of unevenness in the quality means best on earphones I think.

Dear Winter

I have been obsessed with making a “soundscape” about David Mitchell’s “The Bone Clocks” from the second I read the final paragraph. It is simply a magnificent piece of work which has a certain resonance with me. However, having done a substantial amount of work on it I have come to realise that the book is much too inventive and far reaching to come up with a thematic concept. 

Therefore, I have thrown in the towel and I’ve uploaded as it is. In terms of it’s concept I know it’s failed but I like to think of it as a brave attempt – especially as its album length (in old vinyl money). There’s a mixture of everything from rock, pop ambient and electro and lots of my influences prevail throughout. So Arthur Lee brushes shoulders with Brian Eno and John Carpenter sails down the Endless River with Pink Floyd.

This will be my last upload for a while whilst I recharge my batteries and hopefully get some new material for the New Year. As always any feedback (negative and positive) is gratefully accepted
