Couldn't have been more fulfilling to have my birthday land on the night of the full Moon during the celebration of Moontribe's 30 year anniversary.  I've now been been on Earth for 32 years, but for 30 of those years, Moontribe has been dragging sound systems out to the middle of the California deserts and gathered like minded oddballs in the name of psychadelic electronic dance music.
What an amazing story to be a part of.

CANNA KICK IT - PROMO MIX

I was lucky enough to get invited to DJ at the wedding of my friends Cat & Mal back in August, and whenever I play a wedding I like to get the happy couple to put together a playlist of tracks they love and consider "danceable" then turn that into a pre-record for the end of the night.

This is what I assembled from their playlist, and I have to say it's absolutely the most unhinged mix I've ever put together. It's a journey, but a journey where I'm flooring it into oncoming traffic, veering wildly between lanes and sweating profusely. Expect remixes of classics, shedloads of acapella work, and more genres crammed into 70 minutes than you can shake a stick at.

Put this together with the help of NUO-Stems and a pair of Kontrol F1s side controllers to make a lot of the transitions work, so it sure ain't perfect, but I sure am proud of it!

A mix of drum sampling, hardware synths, field recorded noise, and more,  The Grid really embodies the sound that I often set out to create: a tech sound with cutting precision that also involves organic elements, though often unrecognizable as to their source.

The Grid

Music has always been at the core. I had a bit of muscal training early on, but it was the Bay Area rave scene that really shaped me - the nights that went 'til sunrise, the sounds that didn’t fit anywhere else, the feeling of being fully lost in it.

I’ve been producing and DJing for over two decades, across a wide range of genres: ambient, deep house, breaks, techno, drum & bass — whatever tells the story. I came up as part of a house music collective, playing countless underground events, always chasing the feeling that only a perfectly timed track can deliver.

There was a long break in the 2010s, but since returning I’ve been reconnecting with the craft in a deeper way. Some recent tracks have gotten real love, and people have been resonating with the sets again — the flow, the selection, the sense of journey.

I’m not here to follow trends. I’m here to move people.
