Victor Calderone makes his return to MATTER+ Recordings with three commanding slabs of timeless, unfettered techno.  

‘Inside’ is serious heads down business; chunky, rolling and persistent, the hypnotic vocal peppers the mechanical groove in a way that instantly conjures late night warehouses, strobes and sweaty limbs. Quintessential techno anchored by a kick so chunky it needs its own zip code.

‘Nemesis’ takes us down a deeper route where full emphasis is on the drums and the dubbed out synths that wave and ripple throughout the mix. Tailored for deep-deck creativity, its linear construction and rolling snares dominate the mix, creating an energy that could complement any mix.

Finally we hit ‘Notch’, a sound design hurricane that uses soaring risers and dubbed out vocal textures to create a powerful sonic rush that builds to the point of chaotic bombardment before breaking back down to the tribal, classic NY rolling tribal drum groove. It brings a whole new meaning to the term top notch.

Our latest recruit is El Paso resident Raul Facio. Having already impressed with releases on Natura Viva and Deeperfect, Facio brings his fresh minimal sound to SCI+TEC on the Infinite EP. The four track collection dives us head first into a murky and mysterious techno underbelly. With their strong, driving basslines, all four tracks maintain a shadowy shroud, as rubbery sounds, piercing hits and wavelike washes appear from the darkness.

Who or what is Reset Robot? The chances are, if you've been more than an occasional visitor to any of the world's more discerning dancefloors, you'll most likely have been exposed to the sound; you may have already given yourself up to the techno and house excursions that have become the Reset Robot blueprint.

Emerging rejuvenated from the studio in 2009, Reset Robot announced himself with the licensing of no fewer than 6 tracks to Dubfire's label Sci+Tec. Further releases followed on Adam Beyer's Drumcode & Truesoul, Sven Väth's Cocoon and Slam's Soma Records. Current and future releases can also be found on Dogmatik and Intacto, but he has truly discovered a spiritual home on Beyer’s Truesoul sitting comfortably alongside some of the scene’s leading lights- Maetrik, Joel Mull, Ida Engberg and many more. 

With a tour diary taking in territories as diverse as Australia, USA and all corners of Europe. He has made appearances at Fabric, Tobacco Docks London with Drumcode, Space Miami and Panorama Bar Berlin.

With a sound that is at times minimal, yet always accessible; dark, but displaying flashes of blinding light; heavy, though so often floating weightless; Reset Robot is the best kind of contradiction. But you already knew that. And if you didn't, now is the time to find out.

Cherry Moon, pioneer in the Belgian techno clubscene, was the first big scale club who invited the major techno legends for the first in Belgium. Carl Cox, Jeff Mills, Richie Hawtin, Dj Rush, Sven Väth, Dave Clarke, Laurent Garnier, to name but a few… After it’s closing in 2005, the Cherry Moon heritage stayed alive as an event series with sold-out venues to date. Now Cherry Moon gives birth to their own record label, that will bring big-room techno from national and international artists, upcoming talents, established celebrities and all-time Cherry Moon residents. 

First in line to kick off the brand new Cherry Moon Records is the France based producer [WEX 10]. This talented young blood is no stranger in the scene with several Beatport hard Techno nr.1’s under his belt. His SUNSET EP brings 2 straight forward techno floorfillers, 'Sunset' & 'Nonchalance' and gained support from Amelie Lens, Sam Paganini and ‘Drumcode’ labelboss Adam Beyer already.

About the Ep:
 Focused towards House and Deep Techno, Whistleblower is a label founded by three music producing friends; Alan Fitzpatrick, Reset Robot plus Rhymos, and this new four track release is a solo EP from Reset Robot with a remix from Andre Kronert.

Many people first became aware of Reset Robot following his seminal releases on Truesoul, which also lead to a collaboration with label boss Adam Beyer on his other imprint Drumcode.

Reset Robot has also collaborated with Whistleblower label partner Alan Fitzpatrick under the alias of Customer, and following their joint releases on Anja Schneider’s Mobilee Records went on to do his own solo releases for the label.

Along with tracks on labels such as Sven Väth’s Cocoon, Reset Robot has recently released on imprints including Sasha’s Last Night On Earth and Josh Wink's Ovum Recordings.

Continuing to rise through the ranks of the worlds Techno elite, this release is a fine example of why Reset Robot is fast becoming one of the globes most in demand producers.

Providing the solo remix is Germany’s Andre Kronert who’s warm and analogue sound has been a regular feature on labels including Pär Grindvik's Stockholm LTD, Len Faki's Figure and his own ODD / EVEN. Andre is a firm favourite with many of the world’s top Techno DJ’s, and his remix on this release doesn’t disappoint.

With a pounding kick and off beat clap, the EP’s first track “Thorn” has deep Detroit influenced pads and textured bells that combine to create a moody atmosphere. Spacious and crisp with attention to detail the tracks slow building groove is finished by with a quirky lead synth with a rubbery aesthetic.

Second is Andre Kronert’s remix of “Thorn” which is a toughened version of the original lead by the pounding kick drum. Manipulating the Detroit influenced chords of the original, he twists their sound to create unnerving tension and a sense of excitement.

Track three “Umwelt” has a bubbling acid line and building background textures that when combined with sparse synth stabs, could easily be compared to the work of artists such as Robert Hood. Minimal in every sense of the word, this stunning Techno track is both understated and intelligent.

The final track “Arrows Of Hope” is deep with drawn out pads that glide under a funk laden lead synth that grows with subtle modulation. Delicate with an almost fragile groove, the track feels like a stretched elastic band that could snap at any second, and keeps you captivated from start to finish.

As summer hots up so does !Organism's output, with another firing EP this time from Sin Sin. His originals come with a remix by Jason Fernandes and make for another essential package. 

German Sin Sin has been making and playing underground techno since the end of the last millennium. He was a Fusion Club resident for years, runs his own Staiq Records and has toured the world many times over, as well as having a number of tracks in the Beatport Top 100. With the likes of heavyweights Slam playing his tunes, he is a much loved voice in the scene and now speaks fluently once more. 

Opening the EP is 'Dynamic Thrill', a bleepy techno roller with thundering chords and paranoid atmospheres. It's a hypnotic affair, too, but one that has real menace in its drums. 'Beast Inside' comes next and is excellently unhinged and wonky, with off balance chords and edgy melodies keeping you on your toes as the kicks power on. 

'Shadow Silhouette' is the last original and is another great track which goes deep underground. Dark vocals add weight and the icy pads bring a real sense of scale to the track. Sin Sin also provides a remix that is more heads down and stomping, with big hi hat ringlets and ticking hits forcing you to dance. 

London born Jason Fernandes, a multifaceted techno producer adds his own spin. He is the Subfigure label owner and has also released on numerous quality techno labels such as Intec, Drumcode, Sleaze, Phobiq and Kombination Research. He layers it up with spooky, well treated voices, scurrying little synth lines and flat footed drums that journey far off into the cosmos. It's a poised and classy cut that has its own unique character. 

Yet again !Organism keep the tasty techno treats coming.

After an excellent performance at Drumcode Festival, Tiger Stripes comes strong with his first EP on the label since 2009.

Since 2015 Tiger Stripes has been an invaluable contributor to Drumcode’s ‘little brother’ Truesoul. As recent as March he released ‘Sound of the Bettest’ in collaboration with Riva Starr, their fresh raggainfluenced take on techno entrenched as a 2018 highlight for the label. Drawing from a wide palette of sounds to craft his groovy, personality-laden take on techno, the Swede has produced arguably his finest work yet with the ‘Insanity’ EP. ‘Baby’ is a melting pot of three decades worth of influences, from James Brown, to Northern Soul and indie pop of Ariel Pink.
