Diction:

The city of Leiden, with its small but thriving techno scene, is catapulting a new fresh techno duo to the Dutch forefront. Diction, consisting of longtime friends Thomas Schelvis and Tim Oudshoorn, are combining their unique sense of quality Bigroom techno music with minimalism and precise timing.

Inspired by the purity of the famous Awakenings Westergas parties – which they both are attending for many years now - Thomas and Tim found their way into making their own sound while getting their inspiration from artists like Adam Beyer, Len Faki, Nicole Moudaber, Joseph Capriati, Slam, Gaiser and Pan-Pot. Also, Dutch masterminds Secret Cinema and Egbert are being hailed by Thomas and Tim as a big influence on their production work.

Thomas Schelvis found his way into producing techno music in his bedroom many years ago. It wasn’t until Tim Oudshoorn started attending the Awakenings parties with his best friend, he got inspired to start producing himself. When they started to build on tracks together, they realized they had found the perfect formula.

It's been more than a year since UK native BEC joined the Second State roster and although she has been touring regularly with the crew in that time, she has yet to release her first EP. Until now. With the release of her Relentless EP, BEC showcases her enigmatic style in two exceptionally solid tunes that are primed to take on dance floors worldwide. Kicking things off is the title track 'Relentless' and it flawlessly boasts BEC’s approach as both a producer and DJ.

With the groundwork laid on a foundation of robust percussion, a mesmerizing shimmer of arpeggios transport you to a far off cluster of stars while a lush wash of warm pads spawn a vibrant backdrop of enduring scenery. It's the perfect combination of energy and depth, ripe for peak time trips in any kind of environment. Following up on the B-side is 'Nascent' and it's the ideal counterpart to 'Relentless'. Taking a darker, more serious approach, 'Nascent' grabs a tight hold right from the "get go". An infectious rhythm rapidly sets the pace as flickers of cosmic effects and rich stabs drive the energy upward. Soon an eery, yet elated sweeping synth bathes you in an euphoric sense of comfort before it slowly fades away into a deep dark distance.

Two brothers from the UK, two souls sharing one passion, one passion stronger than anything else. This dreamteam is by now indispensable in the English clubscene. Their sound is balanced between ass shaking UK Rave four to the floor tracks and dedicated clubsmashers with recognition value. We are very proud to present to you our fourth episode of Lab-Cast starring “Anti-Slam & W.E.A.P.O.N.”.

You probably recognized our new layout for Lab-Cast which is an outstanding artwork by the talented illustrator “Nanya”. She delivered a remarkable piece of art which shows the two English brothers on a blood red moon. These guys who seem to have no soul are connected by a force which is stronger than any force of nature. Furthermore it transform them into one technoid soul who chases that one pumping and smashing sound which leads you to a never ending dancing ecstasy. This special bond is their passion for music. 

Anti-Slam & W.E.A.P.O.N. are brothers from the UK. Formed in 2011, they have been quickly gaining pace with their distinctive, groove-driven Techno sound having released on Bitten, Toolroom, Tronic, Deeperfect, 1605 Music Therapy, Natura Viva, Driving Forces, Pornographic, Yellow, Sabotage, Respekt and Funk’n Deep. 

The support for them has been huge over the years with their music being played by Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Umek, Sam Paganini, Jay Lumen, Stefano Noferini, Christian Varela, Stacey Pullen, Paco Osuna & many more.Their productions have spent a total of over 500 days in the top 100 on Beatport including 2 top 10’s. They have hit the number 1 spot on Trackitdown 5 times and entered the top 10 on Traxsource multiple times. 

The launch of Anti-Slam & W.E.A.P.O.N.’s digital label, Jumpstereo Records, back in 2014 was a key part in their career. The label is growing at an extremely fast pace and gains constant support from some of the biggest and best DJ’s in the world which has helped push the duo further and further into the spotlight. Now with the launch of their vinyl label, Jumpmono Records, things are moving faster than ever. Across the 2 labels is huge roster of artists including Koen Groeneveld, Spektre, Alex Di Stefano, Raul Mezcolanza, Mr. Bizz, Etai Tarazi, Alberto Ruiz, Drumcomplex, Phunk Investigation, Spartaque, Paul Strive, Steve Mulder, D-Deck, Richie Santana, Ant Brook, Alen Milivojevic and many more. 

When it comes to DJing they are no strangers to the scene, having played all over Europe for some of the most well known brands in the world including Cocoon, Meganite and Global Gathering.
