Coming from the Austrian Alps, Simon Meusburger is hardly a newcomer on the electronic music scene. Since 2013, he has toured around Europe under his psytrance alias Loxias and has played at multiple festivals and parties — alongside some of the biggest names in the genre. For his new audiovisual techno-live project, the producer is now evolving with a new artistic identity — Surface Division. Surface Division pairs electronic sounds and audio-reactive visuals to create a multisensory experience guaranteed to delight and energize the audience.
Deep basses, wide spherical pads, and playful melodic synths that he pairs perfectly with tight bass drums describe the dreamy aesthetics of Surface Division. Ignoring genres, the artist always felt attracted to the diverse styles of electronic music. Eliciting emotions has always been more significant to him than colouring in the lines of musical convention.
«Open Space» concentrates and distills that part of his musical talents into an unforgettable EP. Surface Division delivers a dark yet melodic EP, blurring the lines between house and techno. The mysterious atmosphere leads to elevating drops, and crystalline sounds that play with a catchy synth and a deep bassline to make you loose control, while still delivering beautiful aerial melodic layers. Without a doubt, these three original tracks will find their spot in your favourite playlists!
In addition, the EP includes two additional remixes.
The first one is from the Spanish duo Sacred Lines. Their poetic
techno reveals itself with delicate sounds and catchy melodic lines. In the second remix, «Mellow Spirit», you will
undoubtedly appreciate the atmospheric, dreamy, and contemplative touch of Tiree Automatic.

There is nothing quite like playing in the Fractal Forest. It feels a bit like a fever dream with lasers shooting in every direction, lights strobing & illuminating the ravers dancing amongst the trees, totems scattered throughout, bubble guns sending plumes of bubbles through the air, a group of wizards dance in a circle, Chewbacca & Yoda floating above the crowd and a pounding PK sound system at your fingertips. Amidst all the chaos, in the moment, the nerves have evaporated and I feel right at home in the booth. 

Thanks to Rich & the FF team for building an awesome new stage & having me back for the 2nd time at funkiest place on the planet. Grateful for the opportunity to perform in the place that started this entire journey.

Shambhala Music Festival 2024 - Fractal Forest

PREMIERE : Hajoso - Lamute (Frezel Remix)

As we move towards winter, Unstrung moves forward with a brilliant piece of minimalist electronica from German producer Hajoso entitled, Lamute. Everything in the track serves a purpose and blends with the other instruments, creating a lot of sound out of a little input. The melodic progression is encapsulated by a rhythm section that remains steadfastly techno in nature. The track is also complimented by 2 remixes. The first comes from Dutch producer and Boss of Aftertech Records, Frezel. His take on the track revolves around the bassline, which he manipulates into a more vigorous sound and evolves the track into an almost progressive house realm. An exhilarating departure from the message of the original mix. Unstrung's Loui Cleghorn provides a calmer remix to finish off proceedings, which stays true to the original in terms of the input. However, a medley of percussion and vocals are sprinkled over the original melodies to provide a more complex, deeper interpretation.

Influenced by a myriad of musical styles and genres, these two artists express themselves through a medium of deep, soulful Techno and House, for our listening pleasure!
What you will discover in this new EP are three original tracks that will knock you off your feet!
Powerful and evocative, « Dawn Wall » might be minimal but remains very effective. The retro sounds are always colorful and bright and echo the heady beat as well as the poetic drops, resulting in a very dreamy composition — a genuine inner journey. The second track, « Lazuli »,
plays with our expectations and frustrations. Lazuli uses the beauty of the piano to make us look to the sky to discover the infinite possibilities above of us, beyond any boundary. In « Sunset Arc », the joyful melodious synth takes us from the very first moments to a comforting place, revealing
