Just received the recording of this moment from the summer and in the midst of a very dynamic and energetic touring season, this is probably the set I felt most in flow with, and yet the most intimate of all, at home in the region of Mattawinie.

Now a yearly tradition, our close group of friends has been co-creating an estival celebration in the North of Québec in a village called St-Zénon. This gathering evolved so much over the years, strengthening friendships and an inspiring sense of community, healing, co-creation, love and overall total fun. 

I had the chance to play on the patio of the wooden cabin on the Friday afternoon, over looking the Boréal forest. As Pachamama was dancing with us, rain, clouds, sun and stars were part of the journey while I was soundtracking the sunset with some of my favourite humans. 

As I didn't share any sets in the recent months, I feel this could capture really well summer 2023 for me, and hopefully, for you as well!

Grateful for all the Zénon family for co-creating this space and for David, Vincent & Vincent for gifting me the chance to play music in this special setting.  Thanks to my love Ashlee for the cover picture. 

I dedicate this set to friendship, that special family we choose, and that chooses us back.

I was thinking about all the long waits in line for Burning Man tickets over the years and decided to give some of you something to listen to while the walking person icon slowly makes its way across the screen holding all our hopes in its little tiny pixel hands. 

The wait time  is usually about as long as it took to get from one side of the playa to the other last year after it rained and the playa shrimp rose up to attempt to take over the world!! 

Burning Mud. Mudding man. Raining man. Remember the wild stories (all from the outside media or Diplo and Chris Rock) vs the kindness and generosity of strangers out on the playa. I hope, even if faced with adversity last year, maybe, just maybe, you also saw how wonderful people can be when called upon in a ‘crisis’. 

I was lucky enough to stay until Tuesday night and grateful to still get to play a sunrise on the Robot Heart albeit a few days later than planned. There was so much love in the air that (finally) beautiful morning. If you missed it or want to listen once more or are just bored and looking for something to distract you while waiting in line for this years tickets (I’ll be waiting too) then here’s burning man/mud/magic 2023.  Feel the love in the air and the tickle of playa shrimp on the soles of your feet.

With dance music roots that stem from a love for 2000s trance and techno, Texas-born Andrew Pinkowitz turns lifelong curiosity into creative opportunity by diving beyond the static noise of daily life into the deeper textures of organic house. Pinkowitz’s productions blend the ethereal and the melodic, creating dynamic dancefloor explorations of darkness and light. Digital life in the pandemic age brought about his first release, a collaboration with Mexico’s Ricardo Angeles released on Sound Avenue in 2022. That track, “Hidden Pathway,” was followed by entries on Singularity, Quite Right, Daydreamers, Amulanga, and The Purr. His work has received support from the likes of Hernán Cattáneo, Death on the Balcony, and St.Ego.

Closer to home, Pinkowitz is a collaborative leader in the lush landscapes of Colorado’s rising melodic house scene as a member of the Sky Terrace Collective. On the decks of Denver’s Beacon, 1134 Broadway, and Bar Standard, he fashions discourse from downbeats, combining danceable favorites with uncommon treasures and samplings of works-in-development. Pinkowitz’s affinity with audiences forms compass points in sonic journeys that have led to direct support for Wassu and support for Eduardo McGregor, and which guide his path toward innovation and evolution in the years to come.

A veteran of the Sydney dance music scene, DJ YoungJase was a name synonymous with Sydney club culture in the 90's and early 00's. Having crafted his skills in the days of acid house in the late 80's, Young Jase began his DJ internship in the early 90's rave days, creating a name for himself with a diverse mix of house/ techno. By the mid nineties Jase could be found at nearly every club and party in Sydney, and a regular fixture a legendary events such as Love, Film Flam, Fuzzy presents. & Tweekin'. Always pushing new sounds he was a key figure in the progressive house boom in the late 90's, and had developed a following as a unique risk taking DJ. He has supported many top international DJs including; Sasha, John Digweed, Danny Tenaglia, Nick Warren, Henry Saiz & Basement Jaxx to name a few. 

In the mid 90's he fell in love with Drum N Bass, and, under the moniker DJ Pappa Jase, was the resident & co founder of the legendary Sydney drum n bass night "BassCode". The club was instrumental in shaping the drum n bass scene as it is today, and Pappa Jase was a pioneer of the genre known today as 'liquid drum n bass', supporting the like of Roni Size, LTJ Bukem, Marcus Intalex(RIP) & Seba.

Young Jase had semi retired by 2008, however still DJs under the moniker JYSN, and hosts a regular podcast "Earthtones"  focusing on the deep organic ethereal house sounds, in the vibe of All Day I Dream, The Soundgarden, Nordic Voyage etc.
