It took me a long time to complete this for several reasons. At times, John (or I) would forget the title, but I would tell him I had worked more on it. I liked the words from John, but couldn't find the emotional center. Glad I stayed after it now.

The ghosts of the saints are hanging from the branches of the trees
Whilst lovers walk below in innocence of the things they cannot see
red and gold question marks remind me of a line from Socrates
In matters of the heart we are no wiser as to the root of our disease

As autumn breezes blow our thoughts to settle in the heaps of missing times 
our slowly faded longing in these 
reveries and dreams

A hardened shell protects you now, from all of that stuff
But you're not kidding anyone, we can see straight through your bluff
the hardest lessons are served to those who think they're tough
