I was very much impressed by the skill and creative activity of Javad Javadzade, a young double bass player from Baku, now a principal double bass in the Georgian State Orchestra. For the short period that I know him, he performed five of my compositions, some of which were written specially for him. As a present to him, I decided to compose а sonata for double bass and piano.  I completed the work on 19th January 2018 and dedicated it to him. This is a composition in one movement, about 12 minutes long. I named it “...into the light” because its texture, placed mostly in the low or middle range of the instruments, is coming at the end to the most ethereal and luminous sounds of their register.  The premiere took place on 21st of May in Tbilisi, played by Javad Javadzade and his wife Adel Javadzade (piano). I am grateful to them both for a wonderful performance.
