Infusing punk energy into their remarkable interpretation of traditional folk music from Colombia and Venezuela, Candeleros embark on a journey through the vibrant and immensely rich musical culture of the Caribbean, fusing merengue, champeta, salsa, and son, with bullerengue and cumbia; constantly reinventing themselves. This Ep of remixes is an outstanding attempt to capture their sun-kissed vibes into a more electronic affair. It features eight remixes of some of the most talented producers from today's Global Bass scene, who re-interpreted the original tracks to their very own ways, in every possible electronic genre you can think of. As a passionate listener of mediterranean music, Alberto Ciotta alias https://soundcloud.com/al-jive-mestizo, approaches the art of djing around the mid-eighties. During a long trip in South America he discovers cumbia and the growing scene of Andean-Tropical electronics. His musical proposal today is an eclectic mix of underground global sounds whose rhythms range from ambient, chillout and downtempo to faster beats aimed at a dancefloor audience, as you can hear in this wonderful set he recorded for us.
