A word from Jesse Rose:
“It’s been an amazing rollercoaster of a ride with Play It Down and when asked why I would stop releasing in its current incarnation the answer was obvious. I’ve always been very involved in the A&R process of all the releases. I’ve always felt confident to tell an artist if something should be taken out or added because I have spent (near enough) every weekend for the last two decades in a club, listening and playing House music. I would test the demos in my sets and know automatically what felt right and what felt wrong. If I’m not playing in clubs it wouldn’t feel right for me to tell someone who is playing shows every weekend how their record should sound. And ultimately, Play It Down for me has been about finding music I've wanted to play in my sets. So for the minute it’s a massive thank you to all the artists, fellow DJs, supporters, club-goers,
distributors, journalists, radio presenters, interns, promoters, bootleggers, and to Laura (who has worked day-in & day-out overseeing near every part of the label for the past five years) for letting us come up with dreams that all of you have helped make a reality.
This Play It Down 100 compilation album of original tracks brings back all the current roster to collaborate and a few tracks written solo by some of our key artists. It was a very enjoyable process to see what they would all come back with.”

Alberto De Santiago has already slipped out a few killer edit-rich hits, which drew favourable attention from Spanish label Night Shift. He launches the Discollection EP with the soul-soaked feel-good flavour of "Love Sauce," steeped in the finest disco ingredients to inspire impassioned expression on the floor. The heat stays right up for "Since I've Been Gone", which is packed full of Philly strings aplenty and enough dramatic drops and chops to melt even the hardest frown. "Most Expensive Diamond" and "All The Way" have that magic touch too these are loud and proud vocal edits to get people dancing on the ceiling. Javi Frias is a well respected DJ and producer from the disco and house scene. He began collecting and playing records as a young ‘soul boy' at the end of the nineties in Madrid, his hometown, and since then he has not stopped traveling to share his music through many venues, clubs and festivals worldwide. New York, Cairo, London, Mexico City, Paris, Barcelona, Washington DC, Amsterdam or Berlin are some of the places where he has had the opportunity to carry out his incendiary, eclectic and danceable sets full of disco, boogie, afro, funk, house and soulful sounds.

In the past few years he has begun to make noise at international level thanks to his edits and reworks, published a handful of EPs and singles on influential labels like Street Edits, Tropical Disco Records, Giant Cuts, Midnight Riot, Boogie Café or Bons Records. His music is played and charted regularly by top DJs such Danny Krivit, Detroit Swindle, Red Greg, Horse Meat Disco, Jacques Renault, Rahaan, Marcel Vogel, Folamour, Get Down Edits, Frank Booker...

In 2017 he started his own label Night Shift Records, devoted to edits and reworks of disco and house, where he has released in vinyl and digital his own productions and occasionally the work of other fellow producers. He's also part of the mysterious Disco Pocho label, focused on the soul and funk side of the disco edit, where he has already released a couple of 7”.
