San Diego based DJ/producer, Taj, has been setting fire to dancefloors professionally for 15+ years now. He currently maintains firm residencies in some of the hottest clubs in So Cal including venues such as Rich’s, Urban Mo’s & Numbers. In addition to his long lasting residencies which keep him very busy, Taj’s hi-energy sets and persona often land him guest spots other venues as well as some of the most special events such as Hillcrest Cityfest, Hillcrest Mardi Gras & the official San Diego Pride Zoo Party.   Over the course of his career, Taj has had the honor to play alongside & open for some of the biggest DJs in the business including, Morgan Page, Tony Moran, Wayne G, Moto Blanco, The Perry Twins, Guy Scheiman, and the legendary Junior Vasquez.   He’s also shared a stage with performers such as Kelis, Wynter Gordon, Alexis Jordan, Inaya Day & Jesse McCartney. His sets are best described as a high-octane fusion of house, progressive and EDM with a strong affinity for a good powerhouse vocal. Taj’s passion for his craft is best experienced live where you can watch his enthusiastic performances and interaction with the crowd.

The ensuing sound pulls the audience into big city penthouses, down-low darkrooms, and small-town back alleys; on an adventure where the thin line between high-stakes love and low-rent lust reveals our innermost desires.

His Royal Shyness kicks off with the sparkling energy of the nu-disco infused opening track “Sweet Release,” setting the tone for the album’s effortless mix of dance, R&B, and alternative sounds. The sleek and stylish “Bedroom Secrets” sways hypnotically between icy keyboards and soulful vocals, sliding us from the bedroom to the dance floor and back again. The pulsating synth-pop fantasy “Sex Doll” is propelled by ShyBoy’s playful performance, highlighting his innate lyricism and fluid vocal range. The sultry and seductive “Bad Thoughts” captures glistening main-stage energy while cruising through the shadowy hallways that lead to the backroom.

ShyBoy is the music composer for the Emmy-nominated documentary series Queer For Fear: The History Of Queer Horror. Several songs from His Royal Shyness are featured in the show, including the main title “Backroom,” described by World of Wonder as “a gritty masterpiece.” The original score and soundtrack album from Queer For Fear features “Dildo Machine” by ShyBoy and RuPaul’s Drag Race superstar Alaska Thunderfuck.

ShyBoy's music has been featured in various TV shows, including RuPaul's Drag Race, Dynasty, and America's Next Top Model, as well as in the Capcom video game Devil May Cry 4 and the trailer for the 2018 film Halloween. His collaborations include projects with RuPaul, Alaska Thunderfuck, SlimKid3 (of The Pharcyde), Wendy Waldman, Darude, and Allee Willis. Additionally, ShyBoy co-founded the band Hypnogaja and the indie label The Spaceman Agency.
