My name is Brandon Davis. My performance name is P.S.L.A.M.s.(which stands for Please. Save. All. Lost. Minds) I’m a rapper, graphic artist, motivational speaker and a music producer. I’m 32year of age. Currently I resided in St. Louis, MO. I promote, perform, as well as produce Kingdom Music. Kingdom music is classified as: Christian music, Christian Hip Hop, Christian Rap, Gospel Music, Gospel Rap, etc.

I’ve performed locally at a lot of different Church conferences and outreach programs. I currently attend Friendly Temple Missionary Baptist Church. I wrote and produced my first record The Ripple Effect while being signed to independent label “2 Live Is Christ back in 2004”. While on the Label I had the privilege of working  with such artist as Modern Day, Thisle, Flame, J’son, Future, and Born 2 Di to name a few. After working for 2 Live Is Christ records, I branched out and created United Praise Productions (aka UP Production) my own production company. In an effort to reach out by other means, I also became a volunteer life consular at the “Love In Action Outreach Center”. While there, I participated, as well as co-hosted, THE LOVE IN ACTION outreach program to target wayward youth in the Bellafountain area of North St. Louis. Walking the streets of North County, passing out flyers, being face to face with the youth of our community, I had the opportunity to first hand speak with individuals. It was in those moments that I understood my purpose and what I wanted to do with my ministry.

Purpose

My Mission Statement: My purpose is to touch the heart of non believers in Christ as well as to encourage fellow believers by any means possible. I believe in the message of Jesus Christ. I also believe that music is a universal langue spoken by everyone. Through the message of Jesus Christ, and using music as my tool, I hope to create a Christ centered new langue, that will speak to the hearts of all listeners (but targeted for the non-believer).

Background

I’ve loved music every since I was born. I can remember way back, singing different tunes in the car with siblings until my mother couldn’t take it anymore. I wasn’t until high school that I decided to pick up a pen and pad and start writing. At that time I was heavily influenced by artist like Da Brat, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Twista, and 2Pac. I think back then, a part of me wanted to be that image that these artists portrayed. The biggest issue for me was that I was raised in a Christian base home. I knew right from wrong. Growing up in the city of St. Louis, I was exposed too everything.  From drugs, to gang violence, you name it, it was accessible. There was always something within me that knew that those weren’t the best chooses, and because of such I couldn’t write music pretending to be something I wasn’t. So instead I decided to go a different route. I gave my life over to the Lord back when I was 7, but I rededicated my life again at the age of 19. It wasn’t until one day, while riding to work, I heard a on the radio a startling statistic that over half of the youth in high school were dropping out to peruse a life of hustling or the life of that seen on music videos. It was a very concerning factor and I felt that somebody needed to take a stand.

Goals

I’ve decided that I’m going to be that change that’s needed.  I will use every bit of my creativeness to help the environment around me. So if I have to walk the block and knock on doors and ask people to her me speak, or if it’s handing out free tracks that center message is the Message of Jesus Christ, I’m all for it. My latest project, The Ripple Effect 2 picks up where I left off in the org. I’m making references to the world around us and encouraging the listen to pay attention.

I truly believe music has the ability to usher on to the soul. Music can be a relatable tool, allowing a doorway to open to speak to an individual’s heart. It’s at this time that I would share the gospel of Jesus Christ.
