This is a tribute playlist dedicated to DJ Ignatius, which showcases the mixed tapes he created throughout the years.  The tapes were provide by his longtime friend, Brian Woodhouse.

"Jason's love for music was unmatched. Lyrics, beats, genres, all of it. The amount of music he owned was nothing compared to what he listened to over the years which is saying a lot. Sifting through hundreds of crates & thousands of records. He played what he loved and always wanted you to enjoy it as much as he did. He would always hear the intricacy of sounds in songs "listen to that", "fuckin bomb". He never got to fulfill his dream of making music which he started recently but damn if he didn't leave behind some great mixes. Longer the records mixed the better, Always!

Dan "Big Dan" Carlson was a great friend and loved by many.  Dan passed away in 2014, however he lives on through our memories.  Dan loved music, loved it.  Especially dance music.  Along with his extreme anal retentiveness and love of music, he has bestowed upon us an immaculate tape collection of 90's dance music.  I will continue to honor him by posting this tape collection digitally online for all to enjoy.  Dan would love this, we hope you do too.

Scott Henry - Live @ Love Dove

Two of my favorite people in the world, and two of Dan's best friends, completely kill on this one.  damn.  Only one side of a tape, but it is straight breakbeat funk top to bottom with Dupont and Merlin on 4 decks.  If i had my dream party to organize, these guys would be on the bill alongside Sasha and Scott Henry, no shit.  Brad and Jason were also roommates with Dan and will have to give their story on this gem of a tape.  I've never heard it before, already listened to it twice.

The funky one himself, Phat Rabbit, from funk-da-ville, NC is a local legend and has been playing the local scene for 20+ years.  He's a fantastic DJ and even a nicer guy.  He's so fun to play with, always brings something interesting and fresh to his sets.

DJ Tee comin atcha...  a taste maker...  Arguably the godfather of the Greenville, NC scene, Tee Cardaci was DJing underground techno on his campus radio station long before many had even discovered this music.  Co-founder of FRESH, one of the longest running dance parties on the east coast, 8+ years strong, DJ Tee is one of the best promoters to come out of North Carolina.  The first FRESH was actually a birthday party for him that turned into a bi-weekly at Peasants Cafe.  A great all-around guy and friend of many, Tee now lives in Rio and travels the world DJing, doing what he loves to do and has been doing for the last 20+ years.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you ... Kris Krause. For me personally, Kris' DJ sets in 1994 changed my life. He was one of the first DJ’s in North Carolina playing this music in the early 1990’s. He and Jeff Nagel were an incredible duo. Jeff is also a great DJ and who Kris almost always shared the decks with. Kris played the first party I ever went to "Jenny's Jig II" in Jan 1994 at Kilroy's in Greensboro, NC. Kris’ set and music just totally blew me away. -(Dan’s tape collections contains a tape of Jenny’s Jig, which I’ll be posting soon) - I had been collecting "rave" CD's for years and made my first mix tape in 1991, but when I went to this underground party and heard real underground house/ techno, I was totally floored. It opened up a whole new world for me and even influenced what I did with the rest of my life, as I now work for a music technology company. This particular party was called "Warp" and was the first time I ate a can a beans (ya no what im sayin?) It was an incredible, life changing experience. Kris still plays and lives in Charlotte under the name Mr Atomic. Look him up. And, if you want a lesson in great early 90's techno/ house that still has musical reminisce of the disco days, check out this fantastic set by the North Carolina legend, Kris Krause

Feelgood and Scott Henry, two East Coast legends rockin a legendary tape series with bulletproof mixes and impeccable song selection.  Also happen to be really nice guys and were both a huge influence on me personally.

This one's a lot of fun.  I was at this party in 1995 at the legendary Babylon Nightclub in Greensboro, NC, where Ed LeBrun threw his infamous "First Friday" events.  These parties were one of the first times North Carolina was introduced to a steady flow of talent from across the world.  The club was incredible for the time and place, fantastic sound system, great lights ran by our friend Chris Kennedy.  So many good nights had there.  Babylon really helped redefine the “rave” scene in North Carolina.  Most of the great DJ's of that time, from DJ Icee to Sven Vath to Josh Wink all played the club and was the first time pretty much all of them visited NC in general.  Micro and Keoki was one of those nights.  I have not heard this set since I heard it live 21 years, but remember Keoki's intro that starts at 45:22.  These set compilations are great, have an attitude, big room, New York sound to em.  ~  Thanks to Dan and his incredible tape collection we get to enjoy it all over again.   Love you buddy.  Miss you.

DJ Quik_The Classics Vol.1 (1995-2000)

This one is pretty old school, like 1991 old school.  Not the type of music you'd expect from the names.  This is what Underground Dance Music sounded like when I first got into it around 1990/ 1991.  Listening to this today, it sounds very different than it did in 1990.  Back then it was cutting edge, new, fresh music that changed the music industry forever, all the way up to the artists setting the trends of today.  You can hear in some of the music that's coming out and charting now have some of the same synth/ drum elements from this era.  Music coming full circle.  Thanks Dan.  Dieselboy starts @ 43:42
