Can't remember exactly when this was recorded but it was the last purely vinyl mix i recorded for many many years, so basically i was recorded the sometime the same year Serato Scratch Live was release! Hip Hop vibe all the thru with the slightest bit of r&b and soul sprinkled in! One particular "touring" Irish dj like the mix so much he brought it around with time and used it as his warm up set!!!! :)

At long last the return of Waterfords own Jay Ru, an elusive producer of much acclaim. This EP has been over two years in the making but it’s well worth the wait mixing slow-mo soul gems into clattering hip hop-esque house beats, Such A Long Long Time kicks things off with some classic low slung sampling and deep bass for early doors. Notching things up we have Flippin’ The Bird, some mid tempo funky nu-disco with razor sharp beats and drops before we take it down a tap with Movin’ On, a cowbell clattering blues-house hybrid thats a sure-fire set starter. Finally Sweet Hum brings us to a close with a peak time rubber b-lined collaboration with Hot Digits honcho Fingerman before we head into a monster remix section of the EP. Paul Bryan of Waterford takes Movin’ On into deeper territory with his stunning remix before Fingerman & Chewy Rubs take on Flippin’ The Bird. The guys flip the rolling groove on its head, teasing that latin drop for maximum effect later in the track. Finally another big Waterford producer Stephen Richards of Disco Daze fame delivers a slamming remix of Sweet Hum that makes full use of that awesome bassline!

Naples stalwart nu-disco dude Frank Virgilio returns for his third outing on Hot Digits Music and this time he’s flexing his production muscles with some deeper material while still maintaining that crisp eclectic sound he’s been known for over the years. Kicking off with some slo-mo balearic gear with “Fly Away” a set opener with some psychedelic rock influences of a pulsing b-line and bone crunching kicks. We then continue the throb with “Black Fantasy”, an undulating beast of a slo-mo track that builds and builds with each loop before we kick into the sun-soaked guitar bliss of “The Bag” a track that shimmy and shakes with its rolling b-line and quirky vocal stabs. “Electro Therapy (Pt.1)” ups the tempo a wee bit for some deep analog nu-disco acid goodness before we finish with two remixes. Fingerman gets to grips with “Black Fantasy” with his acid chug rework before “The Bag” gets flipped on its head with a brooding remix from Jay Ru who teams up with Fingerman for their acid filled “Baggy Remix”
