New music comes forth in the form of Thiago Pery & Greekboy, with this fantastic example of soulful drum & bass straight from the heart of Brazil.
Released this month on Birmingham’s own Rotation music UK, the duo bring a flash of summer to our drizzly streets, with a sound more akin to the Sardinian drum & bass festival ‘Sun & Bass’ than any British-borne collaboration. The bouncy drum & bass you might remember from the 3am blur of last week’s clubbing is nowhere to be seen; here are crystal-clear strings and synth sounds – a far cry from the ‘noise’ your mom recalls assaulting her from your bedroom when you were a yout.
If you want to check out a little more about the Brazilians, Thiago Pery teamed up with none other than LTJ Bukem for a Fabric live promo mix back in 2014 (which I remember vividly as my first time down in the labyrinthine club that is Fabric).

These two are prolific producers in their own rights, with music currently being released on a host of other labels, from jump-up label Rolling Beat Records through to the Stateside Asheville label Stepping Forward Records.

There’s an art to creating a balanced feel when blending different styles and sounds of music together and Satl has mastered this with his latest release on Fizzy Beats.

Free track via Smooth N Groove Records by Athens based producer Greekboy. He has fast become a name known throughout the scene for his work rate and consistency whether that be his solo productions or collaborations with other artists like A.K.A, Conspire, Stunna, Lo Contakt, Payback, Lady Emz, Wyman and fellow country man mSdoS. 

 'Voices in the Light' is another example of Greekboy's ability to impress with his amazing production skills. With lush vocals, rolling amens, bass vibes and serene atmospherics.

The two contrasting tracks demonstrate his diversity as one of the scenes top emerging artists. His background as a guitarist is a thread that consistently runs through his production, which adds a live and natural feel to much of his work. As a trained sound engineer working at a renowned studio, his experience from recording an eclectic array of bands adds a different dimension to his approach when making Drum n Bass. Simple Souls & Dephzac - Dynasty feat. Flotation

Connecticut-born Jaybee was brought up listening to the diverse sounds of Jazz & Pop, with deep roots in Hip Hop, Reggae and Dance Hall. Inspired by his father (who was a radio DJ), he developed an early fascination for music videos and radio shows. At age 13, he was introduced to a pair of turntables—and with influences like KRS 1, Big Daddy Kane, Nas, and Buju—began a lifelong journey into mixing and music production.  

A few years later, he was intrigued by a friend’s techno compilation “Hit the Decks” Megamix tape series, and branched out into absorbing more electronic music genres like Breakbeats. He was introduced to jungle at his first Digital Konfusion Jungle Party with DJ ODI, who mixed two copies of “Terrorist,” which further piqued his interest on the decks. Coming from a turntablist background, he realized that it was possible to blend his Hip Hop mixing skills into Jungle music, zeroing in on his own style incorporating dope beats with tight scratches. Working closely with other prominent artists in the industry, Jaybee has been collaborating regionally with producers like Random Movement, Dave Owen, Grimm, and Sinistarr. He has played in a majority of the states and festivals like WMC; as well as overseas in Europe, including performing at the Mac II label showcase at Sun N Bass. 

Jaybee’s music has received support by the likes of DJ Randall, Bryan Gee, DJ Marky, Calibre, Grooverider, DJ Storm, dBridge, LTJ Bukem, DJ Vapour, A-Sides, PFM, Trex, Physics, and Random Movement among others.

Now residing in Virginia, Jaybee has gone from strength to strength and is a fixture in the stateside drum and bass scene. With releases on Mac II, V Recordings, Liquid V, Chronic, GoodLooking, Innerground, Rubik and many others, he’s more than established a solid foundation as a key American drum and bass producer. Blending diverse sounds seamlessly from soulful rollers with lush vocals, to heavier hitting compositions, you’re guaranteed a captivating ride full of energy that vibrates the dance floor with deep baselines every time.
