Frozen Surface

The "Zhayron" project, a band with a progressive/metalcore sound, was born in 2011. It performs in dozens of events in Sicily, gathering ever greater acclaim which pushes the band to undertake the recording of its first self-produced EP. Unfortunately, the project was not completed due to various lineup changes which blocked the production and creative process. In the summer of 2022 Luca Talluto (vocals) and Francesco “Master” Lombardo (lead guitar) take up the project again, finding a stable lineup with the entry of Daniele Motisi (rhythm guitar), Marco Vaccaro (bass) and Elio Lao (drums) and recording the EP "A New Horizon" at the "Red Master Records" recording studio in Palermo.

The spirit of my drum "asked me" to heal the pain of betrayal in all those who wished to attune to it, and so I used my breath and intention while drumming between 4 and 7 beats per second, the rhythm most conducive for going into shamanic trance.

Andreas (APi_ZZ) found that the resonance of my drumming was of the frequency 109 Hz, close to the 108 Hz which is the sound tuning used to heal the sacral chakra, the Svadhishthana. So he fine tuned the drumming frequencies to that exact 108 Hz. 

The sacral chakra governs the reproductive region and when it has been knocked out of balance, it can block our fertility in all aspects of our lives, such as our joy and enthusiasm that gives rise to our creativity. And so I added in the Adi Shakti mantra, the prayer to the Great Mother, who is associated with the Svadhishthana. The Adi Shakti mantra tunes us into Her and into Her mantle of protective, generating energy that gently dissolves our fear blocks. 

Andreas then put the whole thing to music, using flute and Tibetan sound bowls attuned to the frequency of 432 Hz. He also added a bowl drone sound (again at 432 Hz), augmented by bells chiming in deeply associated frequencies of  (again) 108 Hz, 162 Hz, and 243 Hz and a second bowl at 364.5 Hz. These frequencies relate to the sacral, solar, heart and throat chakras.

The whole track has been carefully developed to enrich (self) healing ideas and offers a deep listening experience as well. 

The Cover Art, by APi_ZZ, incorporates the Svadhishthana yantra, the visual, symbolic interpretation of the Svadhishthana mantra.

Svadhishthana - shamanic healing for betrayal

On Monday, I work hard,
Papers pile, coffee's charred,
Meetings, coding, endless tweaks,
But the weekend? That's my peak.

On Tuesday, I work hard,
Theories tangle, brains bombard,
Charts fill up, outlook bleak,
But the weekend? Pure technique.

On Wednesday, I work hard,
Meetings marathon, no regard,
Deadlines loom, prospects meek,
But the weekend? I don't peek.

On Thursday, I work hard,
Debates deep, stay on guard,
Concepts clash, spirits bleak,
But the weekend? Zen I seek.

On Friday, I work hard,
Last push, play every card,
Tasks end, fatigue's at peak,
But the weekend? Rest unique.

On the weekend, I don't work,
I panic, fret, then shirk.
Doubt looms, I vent, I snap,
Rushing, cramming—what a trap!

Worries fade, then I regroup,
Focus sharpens, back in the loop.
Commit, persist, tasks resized,
Strive, push hard, and organize.

Execute, multitask, find my groove,
Final stretch, things improve.
Endless trials, all in the murk,
Yes, on the weekend, I don't work.

This one is for all the breadfans out there--introducing "On the Weekend I Don't Work," a funky speed rock track inspired by Budgie iconic riff. This track captures the weekly grind's relentless pulse and the ironic twist of a weekend not so different from the workdays. Through energetic verses, the song narrates a week of hard work, building up to a weekend supposed to be for rest, yet filled with its own hectic challenges. It's a tongue-in-cheek look at the reality of never truly 'turning off,' perfect for anyone who finds themselves just as busy on their days off as they are the rest of the week.

On the Weekend I Don't Work

Apocalypse Now

This song is part of our album, The Windmill of the Year, and it represents the Autumn Equinox. The bardic purpose of this ancient Celtic mythic tale about the rescue of Mabon was to illustrate the importance of the Animal Spirits, and their long memories, to the shaman who goes to them for guidance in the Underworld. 

This originally orally-conveyed yarn was drawn in the constellations of the polar stars, and it's entitled How Culhwch Won Olwen. It’s also the earliest Celtic myth featuring Arthur Pendragon.

Our hero Culhwch (Hercules) was born in a pig pen and raised by sows, but he eventually went on to win the hand of the beautiful princess Olwen (Ursa Minor or Little Bear), who had been kept from him by her ogre father Yspaddaden (Draco).

However, like all heroes that make their epic rite-of-passage journey around Merlin’s Round Table of the Stars, Culhwch has to pass a number of trials first, and one of them is to find and release Mabon, the Wondrous Youth, who had been imprisoned before Time had even begun.  

Yet he cannot even attempt this impossible Quest without the help of his cousin, Arthur Pendragon (Ursa Major or Great Bear) Olwen’s monstrous, one-eyed uncle Custennin, the Wild Herdsman (Bootes), Drudwyn the Hound (Cor Caroli), the Eagle (Aquila) and the Salmon (Cetus).
