Originating in the forest dwelling doof scene of Northern New South Wales, Käse Kochen has ripened into an impressive Australian artist, gracing sought after slots including Rainbow Serpent Festival’s Market Stage, Shankra Festival’s Horizon Floor (Switzerland), Subsonic Music Festival and Elements Festival’s Main Stage.
A family artist of Australia’s Bassic Records, Käse Kochen has made his mark as one of the pioneering artists of the country’s unique “bush techno” sound and furthermore, of the global progressive techno movement. Between his Käse Kochen alias and birth-name project Harrison Downes, he determinedly releases on Bassic Records, Digital Structures and Techgnosis Records, along the way collaborating with and remixing the likes of Maksim Dark, Jossie Telch, Luis M and scores of Australia’s most talented.
Käse Kochen’s full length album “Encounters In Melancholy” embodies the concept and journey of the project. Encounters was revisited with a stunning 2020 remix album, leaving his audience eagerly awaiting it’s second remix album due early 2021, set to further intertwine Harrison Downes and his Käse Kochen project with the leaders of the psychedelic techno scene.

ELEMENTS FESTIVAL 2020

Here's my recent set from Elements Festival in Queensland online now for you to check out. Was great fun playing at this and just generally being back outdoors in nature again. Lets hope we can get on top of this mess soon so that we can get back to normal and enjoy more of these good times again.

This was an amazing festival given the current climate and tough world we live in right now. Hats off and well done to all the team for being able to make it happen during challenging times.

Cant wait to come back again.

Closing Set @ Elements Festival 2020

I recorded this mix on a rainy Saturday afternoon on two CDJ2000’s and a Xone 92. I wanted to showcase the best of the music I wrote while locked in my Melbourne studio in 2020. That music ranged from moody deep house to trippy minimal to UK Garage so I wanted to make a journey through all the different sounds that kept me positive in 2020. The majority of the tracks are mine and the majority of those are unreleased. The rest of the mix is made up of tracks from Suki, BADEO, SY, Michael James, IO Mulen, Luca Donzelli, Diego Krause, Reyam, Casey Spillman, Synkro, Instinct and El-B I’ve been vibing lately, both old and new.
