I'm beyond thrilled to be able to present episode 005 of my mix series 'DIVISION'! This mix features a lot of new music that's been the sound track to my life as the seasons have changed. Spring is in the air and change is coming. This selection is a bit of a mix bag, while listening you will notice a few changes in feel and a few left turns but what can I say, I like what I like.. :)

The artwork for this mix is titled "Cottage" and it created by one of my best friends, Coblou. She's been an inspiration in my world for many years so it was a great honour to have her work included for this edition of 'DIVISION'. When I look at this piece, I imagine dancing under the summer sky and completely letting go. It sounds silly to some but dancing in the company of friends is something I miss dearly. Until then, hopefully this mix will encourage you to make some time to get lost in a dance and to connect with your body and elevate your state of being.

Jay Function weaves sound into space, crafting unique sets and productions that challenge convention and explore rhythm, energy, and emotion. His work, shaped by a dynamic mix of influences and interactions with people and places, bridges the pulse of dance culture with a forward-thinking approach that pushes boundaries and discovers new textures.

Having honed his craft in DIY venues, as a resident in club spaces, festivals, and community radio, Jay brings a depth of understanding to every performance. Inspired by pioneers like David Mancuso and Larry Levan, he sees music as more than just sound—it's an experience, a connection, and a powerful force that transcends the moment.

As he shifts focus toward releasing bold and original work, his journey remains unpredictable, shaped by instinct rather than expectation. The destination? Only time will tell.

Matte Glamour is a seasoned independent and interdisciplinary artist with subversive and sappy takes, that formerly cut his teeth in hardcore punk subculture...He also plays in the band Gold Bonds. He makes his music at home.

Nicholas Nothing is anything but nothing… playful, vibrant, and full of passion! He blends deep, soulful, jazzy, and classic house with fresh spunky grooves.

Drawing on his curiosity by exploring a wide range of styles, NN seeks out those lesser-known gems, new and old. He puts his all into every set; meticulously selecting tracks and effortlessly jumping between styles while breathing excitement onto the dancefloor. As a Toronto-based DJ, he’s played at the city’s favourite dance spots alongside the likes of Black Loops, Chaos In The CBD, and Chris Stussy. Internationally, he’s brought his signature sound to clubs and events in the United States, Sweden, and Indonesia. 

In the studio, he draws on inspiration from artists like Mr. G, Dam Swindle, and Frits Wentink, producing tracks that are drenched in soul and groove. His unique sampling style of vocals creates warm atmospheres, lush melodies, and raw rhythmic grooves. He’s deeply influenced by the connective and emotive qualities of nature and infuses earthy and soul-soothing vibes in his music. 

His debut single ‘Recognize’ has received support from Demuja and other local artists. He is running his ‘Rhythmic Roots’ day party event series which sold out for the inaugural party. NN has plans for upcoming gigs and new music released soon. Nicholas Nothing is only just getting started!
