Dottie Staxx formerly Fatal born Dorothy Smith in Chicago, Illinois. Dottie Staxx is a Grammy nominated & Platinum artist and has been writing music since she was in 4th grade. She started taking her writing more serious by going into the studio at the age of 19. Dottie Staxx is best known for her passion for Neo Soul, R&B, Pop music and Hip Hop.

Dottie brings the music industry a unique versatility, which the industry has been missing for the last 15 years. Her music is based on her past and present life experiences. Dottie Staxx is currently touring on her "Sauce Tour" promoting her (EP) Fatal the Mrs vs Dottie Staxx which was released in May 2017.

On a hot summer night back in 2004, two cousins on Chicago's south side; T Rush and Shordy Jay, decided to turn their hobby of creating music into a craft, and thus D.C.A was born. Taking Hip Hop and R&B to new heights by incorporating more realism and balance to the genres, all while trying to live to their family name. Shordy and Tony spent years perfecting their styles, and creating music for no one but themselves. Fast forward to 2013, while working on their upcoming album Encryption, they are performing at local shows, winning local competitions as well as the hearts of fans across the city. D.C.A. has recently completed work on three music videos, and will also be starting a blog about the journey they are embarking on with their craft.  Yet what is D.C.A really?

 D.C.A is short for Deep Cover Affiliates. We came up with the name from our way of life. Growing up we were always kept inside. If we were out in the neighborhood  it was for a reason such as; going to school, or to the store. We were not sheltered from the things that were going on around us, but were shielded and/or protected from many of the dangers as well as the temptations that could have led us down the wrong path.  This lifestyle gave us the opportunity to be ourselves yet fade Deep into the shadows of the masses, and to become our own individual persons instead of following everyone around us.  We consider our fans as Affiliates because ultimately without them we could not progress nor would we continue to make music. Our Affiliates give us the inspiration and drive to continue doing what we love.
We come from a very musically talented family. Our Grandfather Otis Rush, set the bar extremely high for us to attempt to become even a fraction of what he was. He truly inspired us to start writing music. Our Uncle Ricky Rush is a producer who has worked with many amazing artists. Growing up we watched as he went on tours. We got to hear stories of his travels and this just fueled the fire. It was at this time we decided that we were going to do something with music, even if it was just for fun. Our uncle put us through a series of exercises, not only to make sure we were serious, but also to help us improve upon our craft. Ultimately, he taught us how to be subject writers, to whom which we are grateful for him doing. This had a huge effect on the types of songs that we write. 
 
As mentioned we are currently working on our first album to be released, entitled Encryption. Encryption will drop early 2014. Our first video entitled "Greatness" will drop Dec 6th 2013. This song is a special one that has to deal with the things that are going on around us every day. It’s more of an uplifting song that shows D.C.A.'s softer side. We currently are booking shows all over the Chicago land area. Previous venues that we have performed at include: Café Two07, Adriana’s, Murphy’s Pub, and Tiger’s.  Look for our upcoming blog so that our Affiliates can join us on this journey.  

In closing we would like to leave you with this: Deep Cover Affiliates or D.C.A for short is trying to bring something new and fresh to the Hip Hop and R&B industry. We want to bring meaning and soul back to the music, while still making you want to party. Everyone has a story to tell but not always the voice or courage to share it. We are trying to be that voice and share those stories. Our Affiliates are not just the people we have worked with or even for. Our AFFILIATES are the fans and the people who believe in us,  and feed us the energy to keep driving and making music. Without you we would not have made it this far.
